Saturday was a day where I feel I was on the right side and made the right calls but it didn't result in profit. I'm running a bit late on Sunday but also don't really have many strong views on pre-game bets. Here are the previews...

Genk vs Union

Genk is in a bit of a crisis right now as they haven't been able to put up results and the good play also hasn't really been there. Especially against teams who defend they have a hard time to really create much. At the same time, I see them very much capable of turning things around and getting in a streak where they play great and just win with big margins. Today though, it might not yet be the time they succeed in making a turnaround. Union tanked a ton of confidence in the Champions League winning their first match and in previous years they never suffered from the post Europe points loss. So I kind of expect the same Union as we saw against PSV and a similar Genk we saw in the previous weeks. I'm not quite sure how this match will play out as I can see both the scenarios where Union just crawls back knowing Genk is very vulnerable on the counters wile struggling against defensive teams. At the same time, Union going forward creating a very open match also for sure is a possible scenario. It makes sense for Union to be the favorite today and I'm leaning toward the Over if the start of the match shows a more open encounter. No Pre-Game Bets

Westerlo vs Standard

Weslero took a big 0-3 win away in Stvv last week and their matches with an average of 3.67 goals look very overish. However, they are only 3W-2L-1P against the over line and at home onot 1W-2L. Mostly the first halves aren't the most open but things get a bit wilder later on in the match. Standard with Euvrard as new coach hasn't really played that great. He is a defensive minded coach but their defense is currently hit by injuries and Homawoo & Hautekiet are out along with Bates who has a long-term injury. I see this as a classic match of Westerlo where things kind of start out slow while Standard should have the main focus at the start not to give anything away. I took 0.4 units on 1st Half Under 1.25 @ 1.930 along with 0.2 units on 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.560 with an eye to reduce exposure a bit in case there is no early goal. Things could get more wild in case Westerlo scores the first goal as Standard tends to leave too much space at times they need to attack.

Club Brugge vs Sint-Truiden

Brugge has been in a pattern where they really shine and give it their all in the Champions League against good team who also are willing to go forward while they play rather dull and uninspired in the league against teams who put all focus on defence. This puts them in 7th place only with matches they failed to win against La Louviere, Gent, & Mechelen. All these matches however were on the road. Stvv started the season great mostly because they had a super easy schedule. Last week at home against Westerlo as the favorite, they suffered a 0-3 loss so the question mainly is how much this affected their confidence knowing they now have all the difficult teams on the schedule. Stvv have shown to be capable of defending so I expect that the plan will be to try and keep the clean sheet as long as possible with an eye to maybe get some counters in. It makes sense in this match for CLub Brugge to be the -1.5 favorite but they haven't shown enough yet in the league for me to be willing to back it especially against Stvv who have shown to be capable in the defense. Mechelen vs Cercle Brugge

Mechelen is in 4th place and they have done great while I aslo see them as a team who have been overperforming. They did lose Schoofs as their best player who was important for the team. Last week they took a 1-1 draw against Standard in a match that easily could have been a 0-0 draw. I still have Mechelen as a team to oppoes against ok teams or as the favorite while they tend to crawl back when they are in the lead allowing the opponent to create corners. Cecle Brugge has been somewhat of a mixed bag both with some ok performances but also some poor ones. So far they had not had a match where they got lower than 1xg against while 3 out of their last 4 they created over 1.8xg themselves. Last week howevern they played a poor match against Charleroi. I expect a match where Mechelen will start off taking all the initiative with the needed drive and the form of the day from Cercle will be the key factor. If they are good they whould be able to withstand the early pressure and maybe even take the outright away win. So my lean is both on Mechelen on the 1H handicap which is now close to 1.8 odds on the +0 line and on Cercle Brugge as the underdog. So it's basically another match where I will just wait and see what happens before potenitally getting in. I keep a lean on Cercle if Mechelen starts out dominating at the moment things turn a bit and if odds on Cercle went up or Cercle on the corners in case Mechelen scores first. No Pre-Game Bets
