Playoffs Week 5 Sunday Previews

Saturday despite the fact that I made a minor loss was not the worst day as I feel that I avoided losing a lot more as most of my leans were either wrong or played out badly. I'm hoping that Sunday will play out better with some more units stakes to get some volume going. There are 4 matches to have a look at and I'm already starting on Saturday during the 2nd half of Westerlo vs Antwerp which is at a played 0-3 score after a very early red card for Bayram.

AA Gent vs Club Brugge

Brugge won with a massive 6-1 score last week against Mechelen but especially in the 1st half you felt the title nerves after Mechelen scored the 1-1. Once that stress was gone though after they scored early in the 2nd it turned out in an easy win against a weak Mechelen. AA Gent played an ok match against Union away where they took a 0-0 draw but were not really able to create much. The week before at home against Stvv it also ended a 0-0 with just 0.29xg created. Brugge however is a team who nearly always gets goals against but rarely more than one which has made them a good team to bet Win & Both to score. I do feel like the odds on the AA Gent team total are just a bit too big and I took 0.16 units on AA Gent Team Total Under 1 @ 1.990 given their very low xg in the last 2 matches. After 90 minutes, I do expect Brugge to come out on top likely scoring 2 goals or more but it might be another match where early nerves combined with an AA Gent likely will focus on the defense might make it take a while. I do also like the odds one the 1st half handicap for Club and took just 0.067 units on Club Brugge 1st Half -0.25 @ 1.859. If AA Gent scores first, I see Brugge strong enough to turn it around. Club Brugge Team total over is also an option.

Kv Mechelen vs Sint-Truiden

So far, KV Mechelen is turning ou to be the joke team of playoff 1 with just a draw and 3 losses. Their coach kind of made the wrong choices of being willing to play forward against Club Brugge which worked in the 1st half but got them destroyed in the 2nd. They are better at just playing a rather defensive game on the counters and I'm not sure if he will continue to idea of being more willing to go forward today. Stvv so far had a couple good performances against the 2 big teams but always was left empty-handed. They got a 0-0 draw away against AA Gent and finally won last week with a 2-0 score against Anderlecht playing a good first half despite the 0-0 and finally winning 2-0 which was somewhat of an exagerrated score. They were the team over the entire match with the better chances and the chances from Anderlecht they pretty much gave away. I do see Stvv as the slight favorite and the -0.25 line along with the 2.75 total line feel quite in place. I don't really have any specific ideas or leans for this match and will just take it how it comes and see if anything interesting pops up in-game. No Pre-Game Bets

Anderlecht vs Union SG

Anderlecht in these playoffs has been quite fortunate in that they took 2 flattering wins to still be the team in pole position for the 4th spot. Last week they ended with a 2-0 loss against Stvv once again playing quite the poor 1st half which has been a clear trend. They also have a couple key missings With De Cat & also Stroeykens and generally just fall short on quality with the coach still searching for something that works. All this with an eye on the cup match which will be played in 3 weeks. Union continues to be a team who can count on a rock solid defense and at home against Club Brugge, it also looked like they really found their peak form. Last week though, they didn't get further than a 0-0 draw against Gent showing that defense only isn't enough as they once again gave away very little while they didn't create enough overall. I would be surprised if Anderlecht actually was the better team yesterday and I do expect some kind of reaction from Union. At the same time, it's hard to trust Union making the difference in the 1st half. All combined though the 1st half handicap and odds are just a bit too good on Union to pass on them. I took 0.18 units on Union 1st Half -0.25 @ 2.078 which feels that in worst case it is a half loss 0-0 Draw or Anderlecht scoring first which offers a good opportunity for Union to make a comeback. I'm also leaning toward a Union 1st half bet on the corners as I do expect them to take most initiative despite the fact that it's an away match.

Zulte-Waregem vs La Louviere

This is one of those matches were there is absolutely nothing left to play for. These either tend ti play out in wild open matches for boring unmotivated events. La Louviere so far lost all 3 of their matches and either might have relief allowing them to play better or decompression which drops their focus more. In the previous match, Zulte Won with 0-2 even though they played without Erenbjerg who now should be back. La Louviere was better in the 1st half and the 0-1 came against play in minute 30. Overall La Louviere failed to really be dangerous. I see this as a match where Zulte is the team with more quality and the motivational edge at home. I took 0.12 units on Zulte-Waregem -0.25 @ 1.862, along with 0.1 unit on Zulte-Waregem Team Total Over 1.5 @ 2.160, 0.08 units on Zulte-Waregem 1st Half -0.25 @ 2.190, & 0.1 unit on Zulte-Waregem 1st Half -0.25 Corners @ 1.760.
