During the international break, I took the time to slightly rebalance my collection taking some profit on a hot player (Koita) while replacing him with a cheaper option (Frigan) also buying a cheap goalkeeper in anticipation for a transfer this winter or during the summer.
Rare Cap 240 Team:
The main goal is to continue hitting the Cap240 Rare Threshold as many times as possible on a low budget while selling players that are hot and buying others that are more under the radar hopefully repeating this cycle multiple times.
These are the Transfers I made:
Sold: Aboubakari Koita (133€)
I managed to buy Koita for just 33e 4 months ago in preparation for the season as my main cheap striker. He didn't fit in the plans of their previous coach who also played him at a way too defensive position while the new one put him deeper with the freedom to take as many kicks on the goal and dribbles which is his strong point. 10 weeks into the league he is one of the revelations with 7 goals scored so far.
This increased his popularity and price while the points he takes up for the cap240 league also are too hight based on what I expect him to score in general. It remains a player who is already 25 playing in a team without European Football and I doubt he actually has what it takes to stand out in a better team even though he's one of the players I love watching the most. So with some pain in my hearth I sold my Rare and Limited Copy of him.
Bought: Matija Frigan (62.07€)
Frigan was one of the big transfers for Westerlo who paid 5M+ for him. So far it hasn't been a great success as Westerlo as a team yet has to find their way and a system with 2 strikers might have been swapped for 1 striker. He recently also was injured some weeks but he's back now. He's also an international and should have the quality to succeed. Since there is no 2023-2024 card yet, the bonus also is high and there are only 63 cards in circulation. The 250€+ he went for has gone down a lot to the point where I'm taking a bet on him as one of my new strikers.
Bought: Ortwin De Wolf (38.43€)
Goalkeeper by far are the most expensive. I took the gamble on Warleson which paid off and am also taking a gamble now on Ortwin De Wolf. Currently he's 3rd goalkeeper of Antwerp but he has the quality to be 1st goalkeeper in a 1st division team and he wants to play. A previous injury prevented a transfer but he only has a contract until the end of the season. So he is looking to make a transfer to a team where he can play and one of those teams is said to be KV Mechelen. It also allows me to enter more Rare teams to level up more players.
