"Hopefully a Brazilian Will Return": The Rude Behavior of Former Coaches Only Highlights How Outdated and Decadent Brazilian Coaches Are

Last Tuesday, the 2nd Brazilian Football Coaches Forum took place. To be honest, this would probably go unnoticed by many fans who love and breathe football, but due to some statements made by Emerson Leão and Oswaldo de Oliveira, two former coaches who have been retired from football for quite some time, some embarrassing moments occurred.
Emerson Leão was quite incisive in saying that the blame for the "foreign invasion" of coaches in Brazil lies exclusively with the Brazilian coaches themselves. Oswaldo de Oliveira, on the other hand, suggested that a Brazilian coach should return to the Brazilian National Team when Carlo Ancelotti leaves the position. Both former coaches were extremely rude and impolite.
To make matters even more awkward, Carlo Ancelotti was present at the forum and had to listen to all of that. It's no wonder that the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) and the coaches' federation criticized the statements of the two former coaches who, in my opinion, were terribly chosen to represent the current generation of Brazilian coaches.
The Decline of Coaches in Brazilian Football
Brazilian football has been going through very difficult times for quite some time now, and the last World Cups illustrate very well the poor state of our football. This affects both the players and the coaches. Carlo Ancelotti didn't ask to coach the Brazilian National Team; he was offered a very expensive job, undoubtedly, to accept this challenge, which is also a privilege for any coach.
Furthermore, it's important to remember that Dorival Júnior was the last coach of the National Team, and we all saw the disaster he was when he took on the most important coaching position in Brazil. For a long time, there has been a need for a foreign coach, because the way our coaches think about football is very outdated, and today, with modern football, foreign coaches show us even more how far behind we are.
The big change that brought a legion of foreign coaches to Brazil was due to Jorge Jesus's sensational spell at Flamengo. Even today, the 2019 Flamengo team is the subject of numerous comparisons, and many people who don't support the red-and-black team know that that team achieved what it did thanks to JJ's teachings. They won 5 titles and suffered only 4 defeats, something that had never happened before in Brazil.
Interestingly, in 2019, when Flamengo won the Brazilian championship, Santos came in second place, and ironically, their coach was the Chilean Jorge Sampaoli. That year was a real "slap in the face" for everyone, as they realized how far behind the level of Brazilian coaches was, both tactically and technically. The following year, the Portuguese Abel Ferreira arrived at Palmeiras and has since amassed numerous titles.
Abroad, it's quite common to have foreign players and coaches, and these connections are important for making football even more competitive. Although Brazil has already begun this globalization, it is hoped that with Carlo Ancelotti's help, he can bring back the glories that the Brazilian National Team has already achieved worldwide.

Na última terça, aconteceu o 2° Fórum dos Brasileiro dos Treinadores de Futebol. Sendo sincero, isso provavelmente passaria despercebido por muitos torcedores que amam e respiram futebol, mas por conta de algumas falas feitas por Emerson Leão e Oswaldo de Oliveira, dois ex-treinadores e que estão aposentados há um bom tempo no futebol, protagonizaram momentos constrangedores.
Emerson Leão, foi bastante incisivo ao dizer que a culpa da "invasão estrangeira" de treinadores para o Brasil é exclusivamente culpa dos próprios treinadores brasileiros. Já Oswaldo de Oliveira, falando que um treinador brasileiro volte para a Seleção do Brasil, quando Carlo Ancelloti saísse do cargo. Os dois ex-treinadores foram extremamente mal educados e deselegantes.
Para ficar um clima ainda mais constrangedor, Carlo Ancelloti estava presente no fórum e teve que ouvir tudo aquilo. Não é à toa que a CBF e a federação de treinadores criticaram as declarações dos dois ex-treinadores que na minha opinião, foram pessimamente escolhidos para representar a geração atual de técnicos brasileiros.
A Decadência de Técnicos do Futebol Brasileiro
Já faz um bom tempo que o futebol brasileiro vem passando por momentos muito difíceis e as últimas Copas do Mundo explicam muito bem como está o nosso pobre futebol. E isso passa tanto pelos jogadores quanto pelos treinadores. Carlo Ancelloti não pediu para vir treinar a Seleção do Brasil, foi feito uma proposta e sem dúvidas uma bem cara para que ele aceitasse esse desafio que também é um privilégio para qualquer treinador.
Além disso, é preciso lembrar que Dorival Júnior era o último treinador da Seleção e todos vimos o desastre que ele foi ao assumir o cargo mais importante de um técnico de futebol no Brasil. Já há muito tempo se pedia um técnico estrangeiro, pois a forma como os nossos técnicos pensam no futebol está muito atrasada e hoje, com o futebol moderno, os técnicos estrangeiros nos mostram ainda mais o quanto estamos atrás.
A grande mudança que fez uma legião estrangeira de técnicos vir para o Brasil foi por causa da sensacional passagem de Jorge Jesus pelo Flamengo. Até hoje o Flamengo de 2019 é um time para diversas comparações e muitas pessoas que não torcem para o time rubro-negro, sabem que aquele time foi o que foi graças aos ensinamentos de JJ. Foram 5 títulos conquistados e apenas 4 derrotas, isso nunca tinha acontecido no Brasil.
Curiosamente, naquele ano de 2019, quando o Flamengo foi campeão brasileiro, o Santos foi o segundo lugar e ironicamente o técnico era o chileno Jorge Sampaoli. Aquele ano de fato foi um "tapa na cara" para todos ao perceberam o quanto o nível dos treinadores brasileiros estava bem atrasado tanto taticamente e tecnicamente. No ano seguinte, o português Abel Ferreira chega ao Palmeiras e até hoje já coleciona diversos títulos.
Lá fora é bastante comum ter jogadores e treinadores estrangeiros e essas conexões são importantes para que o futebol fique ainda mais competitivo e apesar de que o Brasil já iniciou essa globalização, é esperado com a ajuda de Carlo Ancelloti possa nos trazer de volta as glórias que a Seleção Brasileira já conquistou no mundo.

One thing I remember about Brazilian football was the world cup I think it was semi-finals where Brazil were the favorites vs Germany and then lost something crazy like 8-1.
It happened at the World Cup right here in Brazil, in 2014. The score was 7-1 for Germany. That day was practically the beginning of a long period of decline in Brazilian football.
I don't know when we will return to having better results and better performances. We can only hope that Ancelotti can do a great job.
