Super Bowl LV prediction

Good afternoon America and rest of the World!

Why intro like that? Only one reason – greatest sports event on planet Earth is coming in few hours. That is Super Bowl of course. I am late with my post in that topic, but hey not too late right? I decided to write this post only today late afternoon local time, but I hope it will still reach some of the sports fans. If not, I will be able to review my prediction at least as I will lead my todays post into a prediction like I did couple of times already.

What to say in front of game like that? You probably read all the stats, analysis, fun facts if you opened your browser that week. Well situation in Europe is slightly different as American Football is far behind traditional European sports, but it is gaining popularity and many watch only Super Bowl or they at least read articles about that game.
In my opinion there is an amazing game ahead. Super Bowls can be often different and less attractive as some other playoff games. That is mainly due to a big stake similar to all other one game finals. I don’t expect tactical battle today, not with these two teams meeting. It will be tough game, but I expect plenty of fireworks.
I will write few words about each team before going to quarter by quarter prediction.

I have to start with Tampa Bay, as they are playing at home. This is the case for the first time in the history of NFL. Wow, right? Too bad it is a weird year and stadium won’t be full and whole Super Bowl experience will not be the same. Another reason to begin with Tampa is their grandfather QB, speaking of MR. Tom Brady. If I can call QB on the other side kid, I certainly have to show more respect to Tom as he is way older than me for example. Tampa is full of weapons, especially at skill positions. Just look at their WR corp. I mean AB was a great addition to a team and I expect him to have a big role in today’s game. Same can be said for Gornk… Come on, only thinking of this game makes me excited. Their running backs are a legit treat as well. I believed in Ronal Jones from his NFL beginning and Fournette is unpredictable, so this duo will definitely do some damage…
Defense is more than solid as well. Their numbers say enough. If I am comparing this side of the field with Kansas, I see advantage for Tampa.

And now to the defending Champs, Kansas City Chiefs. By my personal opinion I like KC over Tampa, but both teams are fun to watch. I fell in love with Mahomes since his beginning and I am sure I am not the only one. I am not a typical band wagon fan who just cheers for the team which is successful, but in this case they are really good and attractive which is very important to win me as a fan. Being in Super Bowl back to back year means you will probably not win it second year as nobody done it since Brady almost 20 years ago. But man, KC is different than the rest of the league. They seem dominant; starting at most important position. Mahomes is really one of a kind talent and the way he plays this game reminds me of Luka Dončič in the NBA in some ways, even though I know it is hard to compare these two sports. They both play with joy and always find a solution. Also his passes are sometimes as basketball layups. They are covered well on each position and all of their players are skilled for a big play. They can have a boom on each drive. Cheetah can hurt you on 3rd and 10 from own 25 yards for a TD. Backfield is also a dynamic. CEH will be a star of this game, especially as he is around a QB like this. Defense is also decent, but sure can not be domination as it won’t be fair than. Playing against Mahomes often isn’t as he is simply that good!

To conclude, I will share my prediction on how things will develop on the field in a couple of hours.

First quarter (Chiefs all around):

Kansas will receive the kickoff and score a touchdown on its first drive. It will be long drive, they will move slowly through the field, but most importantly they will come there on run play from CEH for about 5 yards. There will be something cooking on the first Tampa drive as well. But again in favor of Kansas. They will pick Brady and that will be pick six. Early 14 -0 lead and by the end of the quarter they will score another long (speaking of 50+ yards) field goal to make it 17 – 0 and everything will look like week 12.

SCORE: 0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Kansas City Chiefs 17

Second quarter (Bucks get back to life):

After quiet drives on each side, Brady will put his team on scoreboard. Well Brady will lead them to the Red zone, where Ronald Jones will take over the business and take it home for 17 yards. Teams will be close again and Chiefs won’t manage to put more than three points (50 + yarder again) on board before the halftime. It will be different with Bucks which will score a big passing touchdown by Scotty Miller. They will also make a stop in turnover on downs or even a fumble which will result in a successful short field goal kick as the time expires.

SCORE: 17 Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Kansas City Chiefs 20

Should I predict a halftime show as well? That ain’t happening ;)

Third quarter (bombs fired, results in a tie at the end)

Brady will open second half with another big play this time to Evans and Tampa will take the lead. They will actually raise their lead as Kansas won’t be able to score on their first drive of the half and Brady will be perfect to punish them with another TD scored by Evans. After that it will be all Kansas. Big play after big play. By the end of the quarter they will score two touchdowns by their fastest receivers Hill and Hardman, both 50 yard plus! Brady will be picked to conclude the quarter and we have a close matchup with KC regaining the lead.

SCORE: 31 Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Kansas City Chiefs 34

Fourth quarter (and the champion is…)

Mahomes will do a hattrick as he will score for the third consecutive possession and that time he will rush into the end zone for 3 yards on fourth down. Key play of the game I would say as Brady will be picked off again on the next possession, but KC won’t take advantage of it as Bucks D will do their part. Slow game by KC and Tampa as well burn a lot of clock and Tampa will need to score less than five minutes till the end to cut the lead to three, and he will do so with his connection to Gronk, but the PAT won’t be good. We are now at minus 4 for Tampa with 4:35 left in the fourth. Defense by the Bucks won’t let many plays happen and force Butker to kick a long field goal again, but it won’t result in a score this time. Too much pressure, but what will happen now as only 1:44 is left on the clock and no timeouts for Tampa which needs a touchdown to win the game?
Brady will be strip sacked at around the midfield at the desperation play. That is how this story ends happily for Kansas City Chiefs in my head, but how it will actually end we will see in couple of hours!

Final SCORE: 37 Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Kansas City Chiefs 41

To round up my prediction I will also add my MVP for the game and one bold prediction.

MVP: P. Mahomes – 469 passing yards, 46 rushing yards, 2 passing TD, 1 rushing TD
(I had to choose him for my MVP)

Bold prediction: Tom Brady will have at least three turnovers (but I wish him only the best!)

Wish you great time watching the game!

Tampa champion, and Tom Brady gets his seventh ring, beating Michael Jordan and is now the athlete with the most rings earned, a fluff. regards

I have to say, well deserved!

Too bad for the game which was not interesting, but winning is all that counts, right?

True, it was not at odds, however, each team wants to win at all costs, and if you win forgetfully, and also break a record, what more can you ask for?
