Newcastle Deal Is Very Close

Newcastle is ranked as the 19th most valuable team in the World. They are just behind AC Milan but have so much scope to climb the ranks. £300 million seems rather cheap when you think of it in those terms.

The Newcastle United football club deal looks as though it is going to be completed before the end of the month. The price of £300 million has been agreed and deposits were handed over today. The deal now hinges on the FA to accept the deal.

The only spanner in the works is the BeIn network has asked the FA to not allow the deal to go through. They are accusing Saudi Arabia of having a pirate network streaming Premiership games throughout the region. The FA already knows about this and cannot see it being a deal breaker.

The Saudi deal buying Newcastle could create more interest in the Premiership as it is adding new money and new blood into the mix. Having a pirate network streaming matches is not the real issue but more about bad blood between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

In 2017 Saudia Arabia, Egypt and Bahrain severed all ties with Qatar due to the Qatar's stance on terrorism. They believed that Qatar was on the side of terrorism that was aimed at destabilizing the region. Talks were reopened recently but were called off soon after. Trade and political embargoes are still in place against Qatar.

I see this as a cheap stunt by the Royal Family of Qatar having a cheap dig at the Saudi Royal family. The FA don't want to get caught up within a personal feud and this is best left alone. The value that the Saudi's can bring trounces the loss of revenue from a pirate network.

The only other complaint which we knew would be raised was Saudi Arabia has a poor humanitarian record. Another area the FA will steer well clear of as this is sport and they are not endorsing anything else. Sheffield United was bought by Saudi's and was approved just last year. The FA would look stupid if they blocked this deal after allowing that deal so I see no issues for it not to happen.

Possibly it could give them some leverage for the Royal family to block the pirate network but that is not going to happen. The real value is having another club that can challenge for silverware sparking more interest around the footballing world.Newcastle has everything in place to become the top club in the Premiership earning more than any other club. The fan base is their already and now they just need a decent team.

I don't know Newcastle has some awesome backings when it comes to money and value, I guess there was a time when they wanted to arrange a decent team by spending here and there but they didn't quite hit it. It's going to take a lot of work though.

This was a bargain purchase and a fabulous investment. In 1999 Newcastle was in the top 5 world wide for football teams just in earnings. The supporter base is huge and yes they need to buy some decent players but they will be attracted by what is possible now. This is another Manchester City type scenario and expect a decent manager coming in for next season plus some big names.

Yeah but I still feel they'll need a strategy to build if not they'll be spending lavishly

I think lavishly is the route as I heard they needed 11 new players and some big names. Perfect timing really as some clubs will be fairly desperate to off load some players as finances will be a little strained right now.
