OCD Sportstalk Curation Incubation Update

Hello everybody as you know each week we do an update post letting the community know what the sporting tribe is up to and where we are heading. The numbers never lie which is a good thing really considering we are up from 2165 users last week and have enticed another 39 to join this week leaving us on 2204.

More importantly the interaction figure is up by almost 30% which is an improvement that has to increase as we should be doubling that each week as a bare minimum.

This week I need to highlight certain things as there have been some changes which I believe are for the better. Just to give you an idea we used to average around 25 -30 posts per week that were curated by the OCD team. This week we managed a pathetic 12 and that was due to many users not qualifying for a vote.

What everyone has to understand is OCD is a community vote where members of Hive have delegated Hive Power and entrusted the OCD team to cast a vote on worthy material. Not only must the post be up to standard but the author posting it needs to be an active member on Hive engaging through replies and comments on other posts.

This week there were possibly 20 users who failed in the commenting and reply part which is piss poor if you ask me. Users have more posts than comments which is crazy as this is not how Hive works. This is a social blockchain and engaging with others is how everyone grows. Those users shouldn't even be here as what are they expecting?

I see those users as island accounts expecting people to come to them and vote their articles, but they never will comment outside of their posts. Many don't even reply to comments which is not only insulting and rude to behave in that way but it shows a lack of respect to fellow users. We call it entitlement and that has to change as of today.

In order to qualify for OCD curation in the Sports Tribe we expect you to be active in the community. Many earn 30c a post and in my opinion that is even over rewarded for what they are offering and is more like spam.

In order to grow on Hive you need to be consistent and have a sense of pride in what you are posting as why bother otherwise. Being busy engaging with others will grow your following, which builds your foundation. Trust me this works and where we all start from. Has anyone thought of what happens when we suddenly have 2000 new users in sports as with no genuine followers you are history and forgotten instantly.

Now is the time to grow by being busy as the clock is ticking and you only have yourself to blame if you don't succeed. There is a willing curation team that is here to support you which has not always been the case so don't throw this opportunity away. If you would like extra rewards then take these points on board and hopefully we never have to raise this issue again as it should never of happened in my opinion.

Last week the topic of a Sporting Bucket list using #bucketlist was launched and not surprisingly the ones I wanted to use it ignored it all together. We had 9 posts in total and these are users who are engaged on the platform because they read posts.

I haven't given up yet, but from my tone you may have guessed I am close as there is little coming back from the community. I am looking for someone to add to the team who is already engaged on Hive and if you can help please drop a comment.

You can be successful as long as you put time and effort into wat you are doing. Your posts are just too short so need to think what extras you have to add to make a decent post.

I am honestly trying to help as everyone sometimes needs guidance to succeed. I am going to say it as I see it so everyone understands clearly. You can do this.

@cryptoandcoffee Once again I see him abusing his power in this community, while he lets his friends post whatever they want several times a day, there are posts that he simply ignores because of his silly and stupid rules.

I see that the number of interactions and users in the community is increasing, which speaks of the importance of this community in the sports sector.

What is not yet clear to me (i.e. the convenience-visibility relationship) is whether it is more convenient to publish in the SportsTalkSocial community in HIVE or directly from this frontend.

Regards.
