OCD Sportstalk Incubation Curation Update

Welcome to another edition of the OCD Curation update for the Sportstalk tribe. For those that are new OCD is a community curation account that is supported by delegations from the community. The OCD community selected a number of tribes to support for curation to help those fortunate communities to grow. Communities are the backbone of Hive for future growth as it is far easier for new users to gain traction finding support. When OCD came on board to support the sportstalk tribe we were not growing as fast as we are today and were more stagnant than a growing community.

Lets have a look at this weeks figures as these are important letting us know we are heading in the right direction. Last week we had 2469 members and this week have grown by another 48 where we are currently standing on 2517 which is an excellent result. Every week is an all time high as we have never had so many members on the sports tribe. Not surprisingly interactions are up and expect these figures to keep increasing as that is so important to everyone.

This week we have had a slow but steady week with only 11 posts being curated. I explained OCD earlier in this post to try and highlight "community" as those that are active as in engaging with other users will be supported.

Tonight we had 2 great posts in the tribe, but this is what I am looking at as an example so the penny might drop. Over the last week this user posted 8 times but has made just 4 comments since September. I cannot help as this is someone who thing they deserve support from just what they post and is what I would call an island account. These are accounts that stay on their island expecting users to come to them. These types of accounts fail and never grow as the idea of they are better than everyone else stunts their growth.

If you are a new account and looking to grow please take this advice as your most powerful tool in your toolbox is you. Your vote isn't worth much so commenting and replying is the tool you use to grow. One has to grow your following first and that is by being active in the community. When I first started this is all I did reading posts and commenting averaging 40 comments every day. There is no other way as this is what grows your base making a foundation for your account.

I keep harping on about this every week as this is so important and even though we have 1090 interactions this week deep down we know this is most likely coming from a core group and should be far more. There are 207 active users on sportstalk which as an average is 5 interactions per active member which we know is not the case as I do way more than 5 like so many I know do as well.

Please as a community we can do way more and I am here to help as finding users who deserve more rewards is what this curation incubation is all about. If you realise I can curate between 5 and 7 posts daily and am only submitting 11 for the week then something is wrong somewhere.
