That is sport and on the day anyone can win and you also need a fair amount of luck to go your way. This is social, but I do get it is competitive at the same time because everyone wants to win.

That is true Sir.
luck certainly has a lot to do with it. Sometimes I will hit the 1-3 pocket perfectly and still end up with pins standing. Other times I wont even hit the head-pin yet all of the pins just ricochet in a weird way and they all end up falling down anyway.
