RE: Ciryl Gane winning Heavyweight title would be disastrous

Weird to think the heavyweight division has bare cupboards and not many good fighters. You would expect this to be explosive with short fights yet this does not seem the case. Someone needs to step up and take advantage of this lack of talent.

I think a big part of the reason why heavyweight is always tough to sell is because there is such a huge weight division there, anything from 205 - 265 (I think) is considering making weight. The problem with guys at the top end of this spectrum is that it takes a really special genetic mutant who can weigh 250 and still be able to move quickly for long periods of time. The smaller guys, like around 210 or 220 even tend to be more explosive, but here we run into a problem where if someone's cardio is really good at even that weight, chances are they are going to accidentally or intentionally still be better suited for light-heavyweight. A majority of the people who stay at heavyweight are guys that don't really have good cardio but have meathook hands that can KO anyone with one punch... but therein lies the problem: When you are that heavy, you can't really stand and throw arms for a long period of time, the human body just isn't meant for both of these things at once, or so it would appear If the UFC still turned a blind eye to steroids these fights would be a lot better but since they can't I dont see good heavyweight fights happening any time soon.

That makes sense because we know in boxing the heavy weight is the top belt even though the fights could be over in 30 seconds, but more likely both are hanging on come the 7th round. I would not expect much grappling on the canvas because they would not be able to sustain the energy required for long periods of time.
