Someone Has No Clue

A few of us yesterday were called out for upvoting comments in the anonymous reports on Sportstalk. I have never seen the reports, but was informed about it by DM on discord. I wasn't the only one who was targeted either as there were others.

Obviously there are possibly two reasons for this report being made and I am happy with either one as my conscience is clear. Either that person is jealous as they aren't being supported in a way they want to be or have no clue how to grow an account. This tells me this person isn't great at interacting and has never grown a Steem account before and most likely never will.

From day one when I joined Steem I had nothing. The 15 Sp delegated by Steemit so I could at least interact and upvote even though the upvote was worthless. It was still a positive move though as by reading the post and leaving a decent comment it gave you a chance to get something back for your time.

By interacting with the author over time you will build up a relationship and more than likely receive a follow and some extra support on your posts. I am fortunate enough now to be able to offer support to users who comment on my posts and I see it as a thank you for taking time to visit my blog.

I think this is what gets to me when I see users copying and pasting for 1000 or 2000 Sports tokens when in reality they don't need to even do that. Just by being a member of the community and reading and commenting you would most likely earn more. When you are ready to make a proper Sports post or whatever tribe you are in then you will have the support of your followers to vote on it.

This does take time, but is the way to build a foundation for the future. There are quite a few users that I have noticed that will upvote a comment and not ignore you. I must admit I do forget the value of the token sometimes and forget that 1000 Sports is like 1.3 Steem. It isn't that much really and is still worth cents, but it all adds up.

For someone to call out that some members are part of circle jerking with voting is ludicrous and tells me they haven't been on Steem very long or have no clue what they are doing. At full power with my VP I am fortunate to be able to give out 93 000 Sports tokens a day which converted is around 120 Steem. In the 50/50 we are using now that is around 60 Steem per day that is going out and I make sure I hand it out daily. I must admit I am more likely to be more generous to someone who is staking and will be able to support others in the future than a user who should have stake by now and has sold everything.

I remember well the grind from those early days! It was a lot of work going around and commenting on as many posts as I could. It all paid off. I love the charts that Asher does and even though I have never been at the top of them in terms of commenting, I am always somewhere on them. I try to comment as much as possible on the posts that I enjoy reading. I also like supporting my followers and the people I have been following for a long time. I need to start doing some more commenting with my @bozz.sports account. Now that I have the two accounts I feel like I have been slacking on that end...

I honestly don't have the time I once had to go through and read loads of posts so it is normally the people who comment on my posts I will start supporting and following. You are right though in the beginning I used to do 40-50 comments day and felt like a pick pocket. It is the only way to grow though without investing.

Lol. I was hesitant at first to get an alt, but had to bite the bullet as my VP was lasting half a day with one account.

I don't think there's anything like circle jerking on the tribes, I've staked 3O,OOO SPORTS and I started 60 weeks ago with nothing, it's the little support I get from guys like blanchy and the rest, I guess when one puts in hardwork and originality they'll definitely be rewarded and that's what I see, the person who says things about circle jerking is wrong

I agree as that is what keeps you going. I started just before you and know what a struggle it is to get through and it isn't easy. Just wish some of the users here would see their vote as an opportunity to grow. My rule was if I voted I left a comment and even if I had no VP left people understood if there was no vote.

Yeah, if you have networked and made friends that is now called circlejerking..

It's odd. When we try to teach people not to act naturally it will fail.

It is crazy that people see it like that.

The most amusing part of it all is the circle jerk deciding who else is circle jerking... It will pass though

You used to have nothing and now look at you! I remember I got to know you had 500 steem power. Fair play to you. I like the fact we grew up together.

Thank god those days are behind us as that was difficult to say the least. I just don't understand why people sell when it is hard to earn. Maybe if they had struggled and not invested so much others would appreciate their stake a little more. It is great that there are a few of us who grew together and now 'circle jerk'

I always make sure I spend time to communicate with my followers and commenters where I give extra incentive for the effort.

Steemit/Steemblockchain these days have low engagements compared to before. I'm thankful to even have just a few to communicate with my posts.

I agree as it is rare to get one these days. That is the whole basis of upvoting comments so people get into some good habits. It is normally the same people commenting though.

It is a two way street as on 50/50 the more you give out the more you get back so voting your daily VP has to be a priority.

Where is that strange list of call outs? Jealousy is common if people without skill see others succeed - it will always be as of a human behavioural disfunction.

Apparently in the referees section of discord there is an anonymous report that they can see highlighting abuse.

If I am ever to make a negative comments about something or somebody I always try to make sure of the facts first before publishing. If I am sure of the facts then I will not publish the comments.

Even then most of the time I will write the negative comment first and leave it unpublished for 12 -24 hours before deciding to publish them.

When I look at the comment after the lapse of the time many a times I have found myself making changes to the comment or abandon it altogether.
