Sportstalk Curation Showcase

Hello and welcome to another round of the Sportstalk Showcase where authors are recognised for having added value to the sports tribe over the last 7 days. This is a bragging post letting other users on Hive know what is going on in the sporting tribe hoping they get some FOMO. The idea was to highlight as many new users as possible, but that sadly isn't always the case as quality has to come first. Most of these posts are already well rewarded so if you find an author you quite enjoy them a follow would be really appreciated.

Sailing and Hiking On The Capricorn Coast

@jobiker is living the high life currently visiting his family in Australia and travelling around on a yacht currently. He is fortunate enough to have a sister who happens to have a lovely boat and will be doing some exploring. I expect we will get some brilliant photographs of his adventures over the coming weeks so lets hope the Great Barrier Reef is on the agenda. Sailing is a sport as well as diving plus they are all outdoor activities which makes for a very different type of sporting post but an interesting one. I enjoy @jobiker's topics as they all involve activities that he does.

Striving in sports

@sadfish has finally made it lol as he has now finally featured on the show case. Well deserved as many of his posts cover interesting topics. With International Women's Day just gone past he highlighted how difficult is has been for women's sports compared to men. The earning ability that is and how choices are made when taking up a sport. I used to play what I enjoyed and monetary gain was never ever thought of. I suppose if you aren't super smart the sporting option would be a draw card and thought of differently. If you are tall then you have more options open to you compared to a short person (@blanchy lol). My niece plays netball semi professionally and has stuck with it because she is very good and was never a career move.

Playing For Statistics

@empress-eremmy raises a good point about how stats and performances are crucial part of most sports today. There is nowhere to hide and everyone has to contribute at a high level or they will be replaced. The days of carrying players because of a name or a reputation are long gone which is good for the team. In the past certain players were questionable when selected and they always kept their place. Most professional sports have a stats guru involved who feeds information to the coach. The fitness and performance coach also has heart rate monitors etc making sure the players are not loafing and taking it easy. These days being a professional athlete you are expected to perform to your peak level as there are replacements to take your place.

Monday Sports Talk Social Quiz #8 - Win 100k SPORTS + 500k SPORTS delegation

A regular edition on Monday is the Sports Quiz with our very own quiz master in @talesfrmthecrypt. What is great is there is plenty of engagement and interactions happening because of this post. The questions are not that easy as who would know football chants unless you live in the UK lol. Even then I wouldn't have a clue. What is great to see is the questions are challenging ones and not so straight forward and takes some brain power to unravel the riddles. Every week there seems to be some use of new technology with sound clips this week through Youtube. I am sure we all appreciate the effort that goes into this quiz and am looking forward to number 9 this coming Monday.

A GYM RAT AT HEART.

The Gym Rat also known as @atyourservice features for the first time this week and obviously loves the gym and social side of things. The Gym Rat has her own WhatsApp group for the gym and smartly ditched the trainer as they don't really help you. It is great to see people active and caring for their bodies making the rest of us feel guilty. We can all do it but how many of us do something about it. I personally hate the gym and will do my own exercise routines through walking, running and shopping.

Thanks to everyone in the sportstalk community for staying active posting and commenting with others as that is how you grow and have fun at the same time. Until next week be good and stay busy.

Sometimes it isn't possible to highlight new authors as many don't meet the requirements and this is more than just the post itself.
