I think it is madness but also a sign of the times. If you have a possible future as a professional sportsmen you have to be playing wherever that might be. I feel sorry for the players it has affected as many not only starting out but close to retirement have been missing out. Think of the Olympic athletes who were borderline age wise and an extra year makes a big difference.

I hadn't even thought of that but yes, that would be true as well. Especially considering the extremely low threat of death or even noticeable illness in the younger demographic, this cancellation of these kids' futures should have never happened.
