I started to do this kind of posts almost 1 year ago but due to some problems in my life I stopped since it takes some hours to write this kind of posts.

Now I decided to return to write it once per week.

I knew he's old but not this old! No seriously, fantastic post an appreciate the effort. I played keeper in the day and Kahn and Buffon were inspirations. I didn't like Italy as a rival to Germany but I loved Buffon. That said something!!

His heartbreak in that loss to Sweden was unreal. It said it all.

Thanks a lot for the words and for the correction ... Now it is corrected.

In the loss to Sweden all world saw that a player that had anything to proof was sad for not being able to give the joy of the tabulation to the people of your country.

Do you have any player what would you like me to write about?

I would like to know about a Portuguese player, and maybe not Cristiano Ronaldo as I'm sure we all know about him. How about Eusebio? I love what he did in terms of bridging African football into mainstream Europe.

Awesome read, a shame I can't vote it as it was from some time back. I think with some of your posts, a compilation of the greats would be amazing! I wonder who would win if we put it to a community vote 👍

I remember my father watching him in the final against Barcelona, and my father was actually half-hoping Juventus would win. It seems meaningless until you know how die-hard Barcelona fan my father is.

Buffon was the national goalkeeper for Italy over such a long time, just impressive. Now still going at it on the way to 50 - legend.
