Hernán Crespo was born on July 5, 1975 in the city of Florida Este (Argentina).

Since he was a little boy, Crespo demonstrated his talent for playing football.
Because of this, his parents decided to enroll him in the youth teams of River Plate.

In 1983, at the age of 18, Crespo made his debut on the main team of River Plate.

In his first season, Crespo won the Apertura Tournament and finished the season with 13 goals in 28 games.

In 1994, River Plate and Crespo won the Apertura Tournament for the second consecutive time. However, Crespo ended up playing less this season.

In the 1999/2000 season, Crespo started in the best possible way by winning the European Super Cup against Ac Milan 2-1.However in Serie A they ended up in 5th place.

In the 2002/2003 season, things did not go very well for Crespo, because due to a thigh injury he was out of the pitch for 4 months.
This season he has not won any title but has scored 16 goals in 30 games.
