My Handball Career 2022/2023 #18
This week was indicated as being the week in which I could go back to training and it would even be a valid option for the games again.
I bought a polycarbonate mask so I could get back to training and playing as soon as possible without jeopardizing my recovery from the surgery.
However, when the club asked the Portuguese Andebol Federation for permission so that I could play with face protection, we received a negative response, as this time the IHF (International Handball Federation) decided to ban all rigid protections from the game.
Since I still haven't been discharged to be able to play again without protection, I will train until April 21st, which is when I have an appointment with the doctor again, with a mask, but I won't be able to play. This means that instead of only losing 3 games in this phase, I will lose the entire first round of this phase.
My team managed to win again.
This was another game that only made sense since we started to win early on and the Oriental / AAUBI team never managed to get around the result.
At halftime the score was 20 - 11.
However, in the last 10 minutes of the second half, our team began to lower the level of play, starting to miss several shots and allowing the opponent to reduce the disadvantage to 6 goals difference.

Sorry about missing games due to surgery. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for you to watch your teammates go out there while you watch from the sidelines
For me, it is very difficult since I am the oldest player in the team, and I was the principal goalkeeper.
But my health was in the first place and I needed to do this surgery to have a better life.
I have no regrets about deciding to have this operation at this time, I was just disappointed because I thought I would be able to come back sooner to help the team.
