OFC: Which club and country has the most continental titles?

OFC.png

As we all know, the football world is divided into 6 confederations and FIFA itself.

Each confederation organizes its own continental competitions, and something I've always been curious about is which club and country per confederation has the most titles.

So I decided to start a sequence of posts where I will analyze each one of the confederations in titles where all the competitions (which are still active and the ones that were already finished/extinct) will be taken into account.

Melanesian Super Cup

The Melanesian Super Cup is a now defunct competition that was only played by Melanesian clubs.

This competition has only had two editions where Solomon Warriors FC (Solomon Islands), Amicale FC (Vanuatu), Tafea FC (Vanuatu), Western United FC (Solomon Islands) and Erakor Golden Star FC (Vanuatu) have participated.

These two editions were won by Solomon Warriors FC (Solomon Islands) making them the only winners of this competition.

Oceania Champions League

The OFC Champions League, also known as the O-League, is the most important men's competition in Oceania.

This competition has now 18 editions, with 9 clubs winning the title, meaning that one or more clubs have won this competition more than once.

As we can see from the graph, Auckland City of New Zealand) is clearly the most dominant club in this competition, having won the championship title 10 times in 18 editions.

Total Titles (Clubs and Countries)

Clubs

Auckland City of New Zealand is clearly the club with the most continental titles in the OFC due to its Ocenia Champions League achievements.

In second place, we have Solomon Warriors for winning the Melanesian Super Cup twice.

The remaining clubs present all have one title to their name.

Countries

New Zealand is in first place as the country with the most titles won, and this achievement is clearly related to Auckland City's achievements.

In second place are Australia, and in third place are the Solomon Islands.

Interesting post and great to see some diversity with the OFC represented. Ever since Australia shifted away from the OFC its a bit more open in the confederate now. The fact that the OFC gets a guaranteed World Cup spot from 2026 onward is going to benefit New Zealand greatly. As you can see from the figures there, NZ comes up against some lowly ranked Pacific Island nations so they're going to go through relatively unchallenged.

Yes, but clearly and New Zealand will have no competition before the World Cup because every game tends to become a walkover.
I like to analyze this kind of data and I remembered to create a sequence of posts about the different confederations.
