Kobe Day Was A Good Day.jpg

So much to talk about 🤩

Where do I begin? I can't believe how many amazing things all happened yesterday for me. I have been so excited to make this video ever since all of this happened yesterday. Some will affect others here in the USA, but other things are more local to my area here in WV, and some of this stuff will only affect me. It's all great though. and I felt the need to share.

If you didn't know, the NBA has officially made 8/24 "Kobe Day". This is because he wore #8 and #24 while playing for the Lakers during his basketball career. It really is sad that he and his daughter died back on January 26, 2020. It seems like the world has been especially fucked up ever since then. No reason to dwell on negative thoughts though, let's get into all of the positives about yesterday.

Some of what you can expect to hear about in today's video:

◘ The City of Charleston (where I live in WV) revealed plans for the Capitol Sports Center.
◘ The US government announced that $10,000 in student loans will be forgiven for those making less than $125,000 annually.
◘ I booked @flowerbaby and me a white water rafting trip for Sept 5th at 10:30 am.
◘ The local massage school called me for a last-minute cancellation with a student named Annie.
◘ My NBA jerseys came in (yes I ordered more) and the Chinese lady Lizzy Chen sent me an extra gift with a sweet little handwritten note. She surprised me with a Kobe Bryant jersey "Black Mamba Edition", which is perhaps my favorite out of this batch.
◘ I should be getting my new couch from Wayfair this evening.
◘ So many people have been commenting and showing love and I’m just so grateful for this life I live and the people I have in it.

Thanks to you 🙏

You can see by that last bullet point that a lot of this stuff wouldn't have happened without the Hive community. I wouldn't be able to afford to go white water rafting without the support of everyone here. There is so much that I wouldn't have without you all. So once again, I just wanted to thank everyone who shows me so much love and support day in and out.

There are a lot of photos and video clips in today's video. Be sure to comment below what your favorite part was. Then be sure to follow me so you don't miss my upcoming posts on Liketu about building my new couch and showing all of my new NBA jerseys.

See you all again tomorrow!

The atmosphere of that day is designed for wonderful things to happen, it was great that you focused the video talking about the great things Kobe did in life and not the sad part that everyone usually talks about. Great ride hope you enjoyed it.

Kobe is an undeniable legend in my book. I don't know many people that were as dedicated as him and worked so hard for so long. It's a shame that as pretty much as soon as he retired he was gone and unable to enjoy a life of teaching other basketball players how to be great.

He was a hero of the sport, and the whole world regrets that he was unable to pass on his magnificent knowledge to the next generation.

Luckily there is a lot of Kobe footage to study, but that is just nowhere near as impactful as 1 on 1 practice with Black Mamba.

It's great that the NBA has its day for him. I also think he was a great athlete, but according to what I have read he was an even better person since he helped students a lot with his scholarships. That Kobe shirt is excellent

There will always be people with negative things to say, but I think the majority of the world has nothing but respect for Kobe Bryant.

If it is true, a lot of respect and good words for Kobe, simply a basketball great who left very soon

It's tough to choose which of the two Kobe jerseys I like better. That purple one is one of my favorite Laker jerseys ever, but that Black Mamba one is just too fire!

KOBE is my second favorite player of all time, he is just a master in every single thing just like Jordan, the news of his death is heartbreaking, and the worse is that it happened with his baby alongside, Kobe has amazed me more times than I can remember, for honoring him with 24point in the last quarter of a playoff, what is more hounrable then having your own day 8/24
After his death a lot of people came out and talk how he his impact their lives, I was like how will one person be in so many people Lives, Indeed MAMBA is special. The game played by Leo Angelo's laker and the Portland trailblazer when the game at some point is 8 24 which is the number of the great mamba shows that the mamba is present at the game.

Is Jordan your first favorite player? Or somebody else?

He is, i don't watch any of his live games, because even when he retired am still a baby, but I have seen documentary, watched game clips and the rest, and to win a champion 3 times in a role, is something else and he did it twice, that man is on another level.

I only got to see some of Jordan’s play when he was on the Wizards. I was alive for the Bulls run, but do you g that I don’t remember it. Going to be hard for any player to ever top that level of greatness.

Such amazing lucky to have a free Kobe jersey at 8/24 🤯 surely you surprised a lot! And about the experience in the river, man you need to review that, surely it will be amazing. Here isn’t too many things to do in order of xtreme sports or experiences, I used to climb when I lived on my mother house in the eastern region of Cuba, now I’m new in this city (Havana) and I need to explore to find something like that. But for now I booked for a cycling route on my gym.

I was shocked. She had no real reason to give me that jersey other than just being extremely nice. I will definitely be talking about my white water rafting trip once we go next weekend. I live in the city now too, but luckily nature activities like this are only a one hour drive away.

He got me-too'd before the me too movement. Didn't slow him down in terms of his basketball career.

The water rafting trip sounds awesome man! I know one of these days I'm going to get to do that type of stuff with my son he's quite the lover of all that stuff and it's awesome. Hopefully I can keep him away from the video games until he's a lot older and we can talk about them more and how it's addicting but manageable. I'm keeping my PS3 and all my games like GTA5, Metal Gear and others so that one day him and I can play 2 player. My wife wants me to sell it all but I said hell no lol

The new complex sounds awesome! I want to get into rock climbing again, that was so much fun and such incredible exercise. I think when we are able to get into it, my son is going to love it. He loves climbing and shit and if we can manage to get into an environment like that where we can do some awesome bouldering and stuff, he's going to love it. There are some rock gyms around us but not one that's close enough for me to sign up. I'd love for one to be 15 minutes away but we don't have that just yet.

I heard about the 10k forgiveness, it seems like it's going to help that's for sure however what's the long term implications of it? They are likely going to add that to your taxes as income which is a pain, tax you at the other end of course lol.

So many colleges are complete scams. I unfortunately needed my second degree and that's where I incurred debt but I'm really glad that I didn't waste my time going for a masters as some of my friends and colleagues did. I don't need more bills that's for sure!

I think that as long as you set hard limits for how much gaming can happen, it can be okay. It'd of course be best for him to get in the habit of enjoying life without gaming first, but it sounds like you've got that under control already.

If they really end up building this place, I'll be able to see it from where I park my car at my apartment. It would be so great to have something like this nearby. I haven't rock climbed since I was a kid.

People think this loan forgiveness is something magical. Sure it will be nice at first, but I don't think most people are actually realizing how it will go. The loans don't just disappear. The government will be spending money to pay it off, which has to come with some long-term implications, much like the stimulus checks.

Yeah for sure there are lots of long term things for that. The “stimulus” checks were a massive handout to companies but people were happy with the pittence of 600$ while airline companies and others made billions. Sad how people are so blinded by small shit and miss the larger picture.
