Remontada y victoria para Deportivo San Joaquín en la Jornada 11 de la Liga Desarrollo SUB-17 [SPA/ENG]

El dia de ayer se estuvo celebrando el partido correspondiente a la décimo primer jornada de la Liga Desarrollo del estado Carabobo del grupo C categoría SUB-17, correspondiente a la vuelta de 16 jornadas a realizarse. En esta ocasión el equipo de mi hijo Deportivo San Joaquín, se enfrentó a E.F Naguanagua Star, quienes fueron locales y representan el sector Santa Eduviges del municipio Naguanagua del estado Carabobo.

The match for the eleventh round (Matchday 11) of the Carabobo State Development League, Group C, U-17 category was played yesterday. This match was the first of the remaining sixteen games to be played in the second half of the season. This time, my son’s team, Deportivo San Joaquín, faced E.F. Naguanagua Star, who were the home team, representing the Santa Eduviges sector of the Naguanagua municipality in Carabobo state.

Tras la doble fecha que se jugó a finales del mes de septiembre, el equipo se mantuvo en constante entrenamiento para corregir ciertas fallas que el DT observó, sin embargo, tuvo que dividirse el entrenamiento debido al comienzo de clases: lunes y miércoles en la tarde de 3:00 a 5:30 PM, martes y jueves en la mañana de 9:00 a 11:30 AM. Mi hijo asiste los días de entrenamiento en la mañana porque estudia en la tarde, pero llegamos una hora antes para comenzar tempranos y poder irnos con tiempo a casa para que se prepare y llegar a tiempo a su centro de estudio.

After a double-header weekend at the end of September, the team maintained constant training to correct several issues that the Head Coach (HC) had observed. However, practices had to be split up due to the start of the school year: Mondays and Wednesdays in the afternoon from 3:00 to 5:30 PM, and Tuesdays and Thursdays in the morning from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. My son attends the morning practices since he has school in the afternoon, but we arrive an hour early so we can start promptly and leave on time, allowing him to get ready and arrive at school punctually.

Esta etapa donde los chicos del equipo deben estudiar y entrenar, para luego jugar es muy demandante y requiere mucha disciplina de todos, han trabajado duro, lo cual se vio en el resultado de este último encuentro contra E.F Naguanagua Star. Tambien debo decir que finalmente la liga publico el estatus de la clasificacion a traves de un enlace de Google Drive que pueden visitar aquí, donde podemos observar que el Deportivo San Joaquín sde encuntra en 3era posicion a solo 5 puntos de los punteros.

This stage, where the boys have to juggle school, practice, and then play games, is very demanding and requires a lot of discipline from everyone. They have been working hard, which was evident in the result of this last match against E.F. Naguanagua Star. I should also mention that the league finally published the standings via a Google Drive link that you can check out here, where we can see that Deportivo San Joaquín is in 3rd place, only 5 points behind the leaders.

Detalles del partido

En cuanto al partido de ayer 10 de octubre, lo primero que puedo decir es que de entrada me preocupe mucho, el terreno esta en muy malas condiciones, aunque los chicos están acostumbrados a jugar entre tierra y maleza, se hace el esfuerzo para que este corta y sin huevos donde el agua haga charcos, todo para evitar que se lesionen al correr, pero este campo está muy descuidado y la comunidad no se avoca para mejorarlo, como se ha hecho en otros lugares a donde hemos ido e incluso participado en el acondicionamiento.

Regarding yesterday’s match on October 10th, the first thing I noticed—and which worried me greatly—was that the pitch was in very poor condition. Although the boys are used to playing on fields with dirt and weeds, we usually make an effort to ensure the grass is cut short and that there aren't any divots where water collects, all to prevent injuries while running. But this specific field was clearly neglected, and the community isn't stepping up to improve it, unlike other places we’ve visited and even helped maintain.

El DT fijó una estrategia donde los primeros minutos los chicos esperaran atrás para ver cómo se comportaba el rival y como se mueve la pelota en el campo, seguramente esta se frenaría en las zonas con maleza alta y donde hay tierra rebotaría muchísimo, por eso los chicos debían adaptarse mientras el juego fluía. También se anticipaban que el rival sería gresivo, por su gran necesidad de sumar tres puntos al encontrarse tan abajo en la tabla, por eso me pareció prudente lo propuesto por el DT.

The HC set a strategy for the first few minutes: the boys were to drop back and observe the opponent and how the ball moved on the field. The ball would likely slow down in areas with tall weeds and bounce wildly on the dirt patches, so the players needed to adapt as the game progressed. They also anticipated that the opponent would play aggressively, given their great need to secure three points as they were so far down in the table, which is why I thought the HC’s plan was a smart one.

Mi hijo fue titular como delantero única punta, con la instrucción de servir nuevamente de pivote, recibir pases largos y bajarlos con cabezazos a sus compañeros, aprovechando su gran tamaño, ya que se esperaba que la salida tendría que ser desde el portero y no tocando debido a la gran presión del rival. Pese a esta estrategia E.F Naguanagua Star logró marcar dos goles en los primeros 30 min, y ya casi al final de la primera mitad, mi hijo logró presionar a un central, quitar la pelota y darla a un compañero para que marcara el 2-1 antes de ir al descanso.

My son started as the lone striker, instructed to act as a target man again: receiving long passes and heading them down to his teammates, capitalizing on his height. This strategy was used because they expected to have to clear the ball from the goalie, rather than playing it out short, due to the opponent’s high pressure. Despite this strategy, E.F. Naguanagua Star managed to score two goals within the first 30 minutes. However, just before the end of the first half, my son successfully pressured a center-back, stole the ball, and passed it to a teammate, who scored the 2-1 goal right before halftime.

La segunda mitad fue muy fuerte, E.F Naguanagua Star salió muy agresivo y a mi criterio varios se había ganado tarjetas amarillas, pero el árbitro se hizo de la vista gorda y rara vez marcó una falta, esto ocasionó que los chicos fueran muy maltratados, incluso mi hijo tuvo que salir y ser reemplazado en el minuto 72 debido a una entrada agresiva del contrario, que incluso le causó laceraciones en la canilla y cerca de su rodilla, y el árbitro aun viendo la sangre no marcó la falta.

The second half was intense. E.F. Naguanagua Star came out very aggressive, and in my opinion, several of their players should have been given yellow cards. But the referee completely turned a blind eye and rarely called a foul. This resulted in the boys taking a lot of abuse; my son even had to come off and be substituted in the 72nd minute because of a reckless tackle from an opponent, which caused cuts on his shin and near his knee. The referee still didn't call the foul, even after seeing the blood.

Pero la agresividad y presión le pasó factura a E.F Naguanagua Star, se quedaron sin energías y se logró la remontada para finalizar el encuentro 2-3 a favor del Deportivo San Joaquín, donde queda en evidencia otra vez que la preparación física de los chicos les ha valido para ser superiores a sus rivales. Con esta victoria suman ahora 21 puntos que acortan la distancia con los punteros, sumando 4 victoria consecutivas que pueden ubicarlos, si continúan a este ritmo, en lo más alto de su grupo.

But the aggression and pressure eventually wore E.F. Naguanagua Star down. They ran out of steam, and Deportivo San Joaquín managed to stage a comeback, finishing the game 3-2 in their favor. This result proves once again that the boys' superior physical conditioning has been a major advantage over their rivals. With this victory, they now have 21 points, closing the gap with the frontrunners. This marks their 4th consecutive win, a pace that could put them at the top of their group if they keep it up.
