dannewton just finished a 16.82km run, that lasted for 111 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 1247.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
...and I've definitely clocked up a lot of miles (well, kilometers...) recently!

Tonight's run was an easy plod up along the bypass and back. I was aiming for slow and steady, and to be honest I don't really remember much of it. Felt super comfortable, legs felt good.... heart rate was low too. In fact before I knew it I running through the housing estate to finish the run on approx. 16 and a half kilometers.

It might sound odd, but I want running to feel so easy that I don't think about it. I want it to be automatic. That automation comes from a lot of repetition, which is one of the reason I'm running so much at the moment, and why I'm keeping the mileage as high as my body can manage...or as much time as I can spare, which appears to be the more limiting factor!

Todays run meant I've run over 300km in a single month, and that is attributed to the time I spend running lots of slow easy miles.

I was later getting out for tonight's run than I had originally hoped for. We've got a very busy day tomorrow in the office, and instead of finishing sharp at 4pm, I elected to keep working for an extra hour. Not much I know, but if it saves me finishing an hour later tomorrow then it would have been worth it!

The weather today has been appalling, cold and windy and very wet. Fortunately by the time I finally headed out after 5pm, the worst of the rain had stopped, and other than a little bit of drizzle I managed to do the run in the dry. It was bitterly cold though, and the cold damp air felt even colder. I had a long sleeve tshirt, and a jacket, along with gloves AND a beanie, and I kept them all on the whole time... pretty cold out there!

Running after 5pm meant it was already night time out there, so I had a headtorch on (and I also included a Hi-Viz jacket too). I am running mostly on pavement so I don't need the vest thing really for that, but I do cross 3 very busy roundabouts at rush hour, so I definitely feel better and safer wearing it

getting run over wouldn't do my training any favours!

So yeah nice and easy run, a gentle 16km to start the week... job done. I will have the usual rest day on Tuesdays, and then I'll be trying another speedwork on session on Wednesdays. Still deciding whether to do the same session as last time or if I should try a different one... decisions, decisions!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

Cheers Vince! Finding the time to fit it all in seems to be the hardest bit at the moment... dunno how you manage to fit in cycling AND swimming too!

I think the run you had today was a wonderful one
Everything just seemed perfect including your heart rate and all. I love the fact that you don’t always want to worry anytime you are running
That’s cool

Honestly, I couldn't imagine doing this a couple of years ago.... I'm sure you'd be able to do it if you really wanted to...

Today it is cold everywhere and running in winter is not easy to leave your warm bed, but when a person gets used to a routine, then a person must go the way he is going.

Ah well winter is always cold and wet, I can either complain and sulk, or I can get on with it :-)

Nice challenge but very hard to me. In addition the weather conditions are almost awful there, so the challenge is even more hard! Nice run Dan!

Well done. I've never got near that distance in a month. These cold, wet, short days can be a real test. Stay safe out there!

Motivation can be hard, having a schedule helps... eg I have planned to go for a run on Wednesdays at 5pm, so I'll just go out and get it done regardless of the weather.

I also know that if I enter a race, the rain won't stop me taking part, so I don't see why it should stop me training either (just make sure I dress appropriately)

Besides, 2C and raining is easier to run in than the 35C we had in the Summer!

I prefer the cooler weather, but I'm less keen on it being wet. It's not too bad for a short run though.
