Lunch Run - 15.11km - 01:29:33 - run in the sun
@dannewton just finished a 15.11km run, that lasted for 89 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 1171.0 calories.
Description from Strava:
Its Saturday, and once again it is time for my weekly excuse of why I didn't attend the local Parkrun.
This time the reason was.... tiredness.
What with the race last Sunday, a busty week at work, training and family commitments, I was feeling pretty darn tired last night, So not only was it an early nights sleep for once, but after getting up at 6am for the last 8 days, I was going to have a much needed, and much deserved lay in
Not only did I feel rested and refreshed, but even my watch was impressed!
After eventually rolling out of bed after 10am, i put the washing out, and then decided it was high time I did some more of my course. I wasn't in the mood fir running just yet, and it was good to tick the course training of before I could make excuses and avoid doing that as well!
Two hours later, it was time for a quick spot of lunch (cheese sandwich, yoghurt, mini roll), and it was time to head out for the run in the sunshine. I wasn't sure where to go, but I wanted to get either 15km done, or run for 90 minutes, which ever was shorter.
In the end I did a loop to Branston, heading via the back roads on one side, and then coming back along the bypass on the way back. This is usually a 12km loop, so I added a further stretch along the bypass to get me up to the 15km distance. After the hard effort of last weekend, I was aiming for an easy effort today. The pace was pretty reasonable too at 5:52/km, despite my aim to keep it slow and easy.
It was beautiful out there today, hence why I've managed to put the washing out to dry this morning. Its time to go for a quick shower now, and then I'll be back out in the garden to cut the grass (gotta make the most of the dry spell!). In fact the weather is so nice that I will be running a moth trap session this evening (possibly the last one of this year!)

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

You need some recovery time, but 15km is no easy feat. I don't track my sleep, but my watch sometimes says I need a couple of days to recover after a run.

I don't really pay attention the the sleep metrics, but I know the watch uses the data to update the stress section, and I keep an eye on that one... high stress score can be a potential warning that I'm coming down with something
Yep, the 15km today was probably more than I really needed to do today... more recovery time planned tomorrow too!
I don't really want to wear a watch when I sleep and I'll know if I slept well. I'll do a longer run tomorrow and see how that goes. Before I hurt my back last weekend I was making good progress and my parkrun time shows I didn't regress too much.
It felt odd wearing a watch to bed to begin with, but I've got used to it now
Hope the long run goes ok... you've only missed a couple of weeks due to the back issue, so hopefully you can get return to making progress pretty quickly
The run was good. I would like to go further, but I'll build it up.
