Afternoon Run - 6.5km - 00:40:49 [into the night...]

@dannewton just finished a 6.5km run, that lasted for 40 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 534.0 calories.

Description from Strava: Welp, the clocks went back over the weekend, which means briefly lighter mornings, but much darker evenings. The walk into work this morning at 6:30 am was in daylight compared to the previous couple of weeks, so that was nice I guess. It does mean though that instead of the sun setting at 6:30pm last week, it set at 5:30 tonight.

As I run after I finish work at 4pm, this means I set off in plenty of daylight, but during the 40-odd minutes commute home, the light changes dramatically. I was prepared with a headtorch, but didn't actually need it tonight. The cover image was taken literally 2 minutes after I arrived home, and shows how quickly darkness has fallen. Technically on these shorter runs home, it is lit streetlights the whole way, but as I have a knack of tripping over the smallest of obstacles, I will be making sure I use the torch anyway.

I'll definitely be needing on the longer runs home, as both the Boultham park route and the bypass route have sections with no streetlights

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

As I tend to run in the mornings I will benefit, but take care in the dark. It was totally dark when I got home today, but I wasn't running.

I will... i have a headtorch, and some reflective armbands/belt along with bright clothing (I'm not a runner who wears black, esp at his time of year!)

I do have a high viz 'running vest' thing too... people will see me from miles away :-)
