@dannewton just finished a 8.24km run, that lasted for 52 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 750.0 calories.
Description from Strava: December is well underway, and while I'm not feeling festive, I'm at least trying to be organised...
I've spent the past weekend getting stuff ready, tidying up the house, getting christmas decorations don from the loft, and getting (most of) them put up. I've almost finished christmas shopping, and almost finished getting them wrapped too
the last 'person' to buy for is my Dad's dog Lola, don't laugh, she is an important member of the family, and deserves to be treated at xmas, just like anyone else. Besides, she has been a very good dog this year, helping to keep my Dad company
Also at the weekend, I started writing cards... I don't send out many these days, but I still send them to the important people. I bought the cards a few weeks ago, but it wasn't until yesterday that I realised I'd made an error.... I managed to get a card for everyone, my partner, my brother, his wife, my niece, even my Dads dog... but I managed to forget a card for Dad himself!
I decided I didn't want to wait until the weekend (as I'm gonna be super busy anyway) do decided to pick up the last remaining bits on my way home from work tonight.
I left the office just after 4pm, and headed straight into the town center

first stop was the card shop...

to pick up Dad's card.
I find card shopping really difficult, trying to find the balance between Soppy and Boring... but this one isn't too bad
As an aside, I hate it when it gets dark this early... we've only just got to 4:30pm and night has already fallen. The good news is that the Winter Solstice is only a a couple of weeks away, so not long to go before it starts getting lighter again

After the card shop, it was time to head to the Pet Shop over on Tritton Road. I was after a squeaky toy for the dog, plus some treats. There wasn't much of a selection to chose from... but eventually I chose:

... Some rodeo chew sticks, a little squeaky turkey, and then a soft plush dinosaur
And with that, my xmas shopping is finished!
After that, I then ran the rest of the way home. I was carrying all of this in a carrier bag as it wouldn't fit in my bacpack. I might have looked awkward, but it wasn't that heavy at all.
And then after a shower, and some tea, its time to go wrap them all, and finish writing the cards. Thats another job ticked off at least in terms of xmas preparations
Tomorrow will be another run home after work, it is meant to be a longer session, but after seeing that the forecast is due to be awfully wet, we'll see if I do the full session or abort it early and just head straight home... will depend on how bad it ends up being I guess!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
