Description from Strava:
Just one more sleep 'till Christmas...
I was working in the office today, but as it was Christmas Eve, we were all given permission to leave a couple of hours early, as long as our work was finished... and I managed to escape at 2:30pm instead of the more usual time of 4pm.
I walked into town to pick up some last minute items...

My partner had done the xmas food shop yesterday afternoon, but was unable to get some essential items, namely a pack of small frozen sausage rolls, and some sour cream 'n' chive Pringles
Trust me, they were essential!!

I thought town was reasonably busy considering it is xmas eve, but then I suppose I don't usually shop this time of year

There were some street decorations dotted around the high street, they all light up so it's better to wait 'till it's dark.
After popping into Heron Foods for the essential items, and then popping into Coop for snacks (these were also essential haha!), it was time to head home. I debated on walking home, but decided I wanted to get home quicker...

...I also realised that the bus was just about to depart, from the bus station, so that was pretty good timing.
Once home, it was then time to head out and get a run done. Doing it today means I have less pressure to complete a run on Christmas Day, although I'll probably do a short one anyway.
As it was getting dark, and time was getting away from me, I chose to do 10km along the bypass route. I went for a quicker pace than usual... it wasn't planned but I suppose there was a sub-conscious effort to get it done and out of the way. I also felt pretty good after the first couple of km, so I maintained it for a rare, but useful, tempo session.
Now back home, its time for tea, and a quick spot of tidying up, and then my partner and I can settle down and enjoy the evening together

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
