Description from Strava: Another day in the office, and it felt very similar to yesterday to be fair. Once again I walked to work in the darkness this morning:

In Lincoln there are a number of xmas light exhibitions/decorations scattered around the main shopping area of the city. Although they are there for the benefit of late night shoppers or pub goers in the evenings, its still so dark in the morning that you can still appreciate them.

one of a number of light exhibitions
This blue 'tunnel' was interesting, as it wasn't just blue, there is a sequence of colours that flash around on a loop, all colours of the rainbow, and each of the triangle panels change colour in the sequence.
After getting briefly distracted, it was time to pick up a couple of energy drinks and finish my walk to work.
It was another quiet day in the office today. I did my best to keep busy, but by mid-afternoon I was starting to get a a little bored.
the trouble with getting bored is that time drags so slowly!
Eventually, I made it to the end of the day, and it was time to head home.

leaving work in the daylight (just)

passing another one of the festive illuminations on Brayford Pool

and finally heading down a small path with just my headtorch to show the way
The run home was longer than yesterdays effort at 12km, and was a nice easy meander across town, before turning and heading up the hill for home

From the stats below, I'm pleased to see that I was able to maintain a slightly quicker than usual pace, and still managed to average a fairly low Heart Rate. An average of 143 peats per minute means I was able to keep most of the run in the Zone 2 Area
Zone 2 means comfortable, easy effort by the way, and it did feel comfortable this evening

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
