@dannewton just finished a 15.1km run, that lasted for 89 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 1221.0 calories.
Description from Strava: Well, first thing some eagle eyed readers might notice, I've gone for a long run in the middle of the day... and that is because I'm on holiday!
I've not gone away or anything, its just time of from work... which is good enough I guess!
A slight error on my days taken earlier this year meant I only had 4 days to take (and not a full week) hence why I had to go to work on Monday (yesterday). I am now free to relax and enjoy it today, and for the rest of the week

After a lay-in this morning, I eventually gathered enough energy to get out of bed. I've got a list of jobs to do this week, as I'm gonna be using the free time to catch up on various chores and jobs that I've left to one side recently... but looking out of the window and seeing the sunshine, I decided my time would be better spent going out for a run
As I've done a couple of times recently, I used the 'route' section on Strava to pick out and plan new routes to run in. I'm feeling in an exploratory mood, and getting bored of the same old routes week in, week out.
I ended up creating the route seen in the title image at the top of the page - a small loop around the roads in the southern part of the city, for approximately 15km.

running alongside Sincil Dyke

Taking a right to run towards the centre of town

The path follows the River Witham as it passes through town, and out the other side. The River eventually flows down into Boston on the Lincolnshire coast, and out into sea.
If you look into the distance, on the middle of the horizon is the majestic Lincoln Cathedral

After a mile or so, I turn and start to head away from town, following Tritton Road
This where the majority of the Retail Parks are in Lincoln, with a variety of big name stores... the high street looks pretty empty in comparison!

Triton Road takes me onto the edge of North Hykeham, and so it's time to take another left to loop round towards Bracebridge Heath...

...Crossing the River again as I do so

From here it isn't far before I arrive at the bottom of Cross 'ocliff Hill, and run up it to head back home.

At the last minute I decide to stop of at the Coop in the village, as I realise I didn't really have lunch, and am absolutely starving. I picked up a Meal Deal, along with a Creme egg, although I was so hungry that I forgot to take any pictures
This afternoon I'm gonna tick of one of my long awaited jobs, which is to sort out what clothes I have, deciding what is still worth keeping, and which items are finally past their best. And then I'll make a list so that I can go clothes shopping tomorrow, along with some other random stuff I need.
Although I'd better get a move on, I also have physio to go this evening!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
