Midweek long run - 11km

dannewton just finished a 11.03km run, that lasted for 72 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 1195.2 calories.


Description from Strava: After the shorter run on Monday, it was time for a longer session. I generally prefer the longer runs to be honest. I know the shorter distances have their place in terms of variation and for recovery etc, but the longer I run, the better I feel.

The same goes for music I guess. If there is a choice between a 3 minute pop song or a 27 minute prog rock masterpiece then prog rock it is! The reason is I want to take time to relax and get into the groove of it. It can take a few minutes at the start to get going but after 15-20 minutes, the creaky knees disappear and I begin to relax and enjoy the session

Today's route was 2 laps around the village for a total of 11km, and as you can probably guess already, the 2nd lap was more comfortable than the first. Weather was warmish but not too bad, and there was a gentle breeze which helped keep me relatively cool. Now I can have a quick shower, and put my feet up for the rest of the evening!

I might even put on some Pink Floyd while I'm at it!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
