dannewton just finished a 10.04km run, that lasted for 67 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 1118.5 calories.

Description from Strava: Well it's Saturday, so I guess that means another parkrun!

the time seems to be passing so quickly at the moment!

It was actually quite chilly when I first stepped out of the house this morning, with a nice, fresh breeze. I stuck to shorts and t-shirt though as I knew it wouldn't take long for me to warm up. And indeed, by the time I made it to the start line, I was warmed up and ready.

The last couple of times I have started near the back of the group, but today I decided to start nearer the middle. This meant that I started the run at a slightly quicker pace than before, and also meant I spent less time weaving between slower runners, dogs and buggies.

I'm still awaiting the official time, but I suspect today I might have got a bit carried away. It's really difficult to maintain a consistent pace when there's other people involved (or perhaps I need more practice!)

You can see this in all the 'achievements' for this run, with pbs on nearly every segment. And that contrasts with the run home which averaged out at a pace of 7.30 per km, which is much slower than I usually go. As the aim for Saturday is to run there, run round, and then run home, I'm gonna need to keep an eye on pace/effort to try to keep it more consistent.

But I other than that small grumble, I had a good day today. The sun was shining, the people were smiling, and I'm pretty sure I got another parkrun PB!

edit: just received the results email, I did it in an 'official' time of 30:01. Bah! I was so close to getting under 30 minutes, I'm flippin' furious now! 🤬😅🤣

Oh and while I remember, here are a couple of images I took while waiting for the event to start:

The first one is a view of the river on the edge of Boultham Park

And the 2nd is a view of the small 'lake' in the middle of the park. The route of the run runs past the water here, and then loops behind the trees in the back of this shot Considering its in the middle of a small city, it feels surprisingly quiet... well except for the 300 people jogging around it looking hot and uncomfortable haha!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
