dannewton just finished a 9.24km run, that lasted for 54 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 728.0 calories.

Description from Strava: A rare occurance of back to back sessions. I was supposed to do 10-12km yesterday, but do to distractions and time constraints I was limited to just 6km for approx 35 minutes.

it was done at 21:30, which wasn't ideal as it the effect of waking me up right before bedtime, oops!

But anyway, today I decided I needed to try that again and do a proper run this time. No excuses, no distractions.

I finished work a little earlier than usual, and caught an earlier bus home so I had more time spare. And as usual, I quickly got changed and headed straight back out, before I could change my mind.

After yesterdays session I decided that 9km would be enough today, and for a change I decided to pick up the pace a little too. It wasn't intentional, but I started with a quicker cadence than , and it felt so comfortable that I kept up that high turn over for the rest of the run. Not sure how accurate my Garmin watch is at counting the amount of stes I take but apparently I averaged 183 steps per minute

Maybe that Born to Run book is influencing me after all!

Weatherwise, it may have only been 2C but that is significantly warmer then of late, and I'm glad to see the back of the ice. Saying that however, I did almost have an accident while heading back.

No, I didn't slip over!

The bypass runs adjacent to some fields, and out of the darkness a Hare suddenly shot straight in front of me, I guess he was spooked by my headtorch, and he certainly scarred the hell out of me!

I guess you could call that a Hare-Raising experience!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

I saw a hare on a run a while back. They are pretty big. Take care in the dark.
