dannewton just finished a 9.21km run, that lasted for 58 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 745.0 calories.

Description from Strava: Yep! The most important thing to take from todays run was that even though I had to wait until after work, I was still able to get out and run in daylight!

well mostly daylight, dusk WAS falling as I was returning home

...but I didn't need to use the headtorch tonight :-)

Granted, I was out the door quite sharp today, tomorrows run will be after 6pm, and that will require a headtorch. But the days are getting longer, and Spring is on its way.

The run itself was a bit hit and miss. I had planned for a tempo run, but decided at the last minute just to aim for an easy recovery run. This was due to still feeling a little tired after the long run on saturday, and then when I set off tonight the pace was too quick, and I struggled to find an easy pace. Wasn't abad run, I guess I just wasn't able to relax as much as I wanted.

I will be out again tomorrow for another run, although tomorrow will be a short 6km tempo run (which I will actually do this time!) This means I am planning to do 4 sessions this week. I did this last week as well, and definitely felt the extra session helped with recovery etc. It will also help with some variety so that one of my sessions each week can have some speedwork or threshold run involved

It will also help increase my mileage again. At the moment I am averaging 45km per week, and just by doing an extra 5km (ish) then that means I will up that to 50km.

It also means I will be doing roughly 200km if I can keep that up

That also brings me in a roundabout way to the attached photo, showing all the runs I've completed this month. Its been a productive month and I'm currently sitting on 197km, which means that as long I get out for that little run tomorrow evening I hit over 200km for January.

Now thats a good start for 2023!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

It's definitely staying lighter a little longer. Not too so cold during the day, but then I was in all day today. Your distances are impressive. I hope the legs are bearing up okay.

Practice, steeve, the impressive distances comes from practice. ;-)

My legs were feeling ok until I tried some speedwork tonight. I didn't even do that much, and I think I've over done it. More speedwork practice required here lol
