Description from Strava: Very windy out there today!

I may have complained about rain and sleet, but wind is much more annoying! Nearly as annoying as ice in fact!

We've had strong winds all day today... and it managed to blow down one of my flippin' fence panels. That was really annoying! I was at home today, and earlier this morning I looked out the window and noticed the panel had 'popped out' of the concrete posts holding it. Nothing I could do about it as I was busy working, and besides, there was no point in fixing it so it could break again 5 minutes later.

When I finished work at 4:30 it was still blowing a gale, so as I still couldn't do anything about, I elected to go out for a run instead.

The usual bypass route is very open and prone to the effect of the wind, so I decided to go along the back roads to do a loop around the village of Branston. I did see lots of branches on the floor, all due to the damage from the strong winds, but for the most part I was sheltered from it on the path I took.

Other than the wind, there was only a slight hint of rain, and it also felt unexpectedly warm out there. I probably didn't need my jacket this time lol. It was a realtively comfortable run until the last 3km when I ventured on the bypass to run home.

And by the time I had got home there was no strong winds anymore, and still about 40 mins of daylight, so I headed out into the garden to reattach the fence panel. It was a bit of a faff as its in a tight corner and technically would have been easier with a 2nd pair of hands.I finished using torch light, but at least I know its done now

fingers crossed it stays up overnight!

And with the fence done, I could finally have my tea and relax for the evening. That involves a burger and chips, and then putting on a random film (James Bond in Skyfall if you're curious!)

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

Loathe the wind. Everything is okay weather wise (bar Tornados and Hurricans - although they named one after me, y'know. Some would say "apt" 😆)

But wind... ugh. It's the mosquito of weather conditions.

Always hold you in my thoughts. Hope you're well. You're out there doing yo' thang so it looks to be so.

Stay you!

Oh :(

Seems to be a common theme for all of us, so know you aren't alone. It's post Apocalyptic traveling around out here. Really... feels like the walking dead although no zombies and everybody just stealing each other's shit to try and survive.

It's pretty intense!

We're gonna huddle for a while and regroup.

I'm on Discord if you need an ear. No need to battle on alone. 🌼
