Well, its taken me 3 days, but I finally managed to get the first run of the year out of the way. It is a Bank Holiday after all, and I have nowt else better to do haha. Usually the bank holidays here in the UK always end damp and cold and wet.... today however it was a very mild 10C along with clear blue skies. Surprisingly warm for January, but I think we return back to cold and wet weather nearer the end of the week.

Todays run was for just 30 minutes, and I managed nearly 5km in that time. The route was once again out along the bypass and then back again. Nice and easy, and helped to blow away some of the cobwebs lol. The pace was irrelevant, I just wanted to enjoy some fresh air...

I normally run without music, which confuses a lot of people as I listen to music constantly when I do ANYTHING else, but I always choose to run in silence. Today I wanted to change that, so I hooked up a little mp3 player, and plonked some headphones on. It did take me nearly 10 minutes to choose what to listen too, I needed something loud and fast and full of energy, and eventually I made my choice...

Cattle Decapitation - The Anthropocene Extinction

It is a fantastic example of Progressive Death Metal if you like that kind of thing ;-)

This is one of the tracks - Prophets of Loss, taken from "The Anthropocene Extinction"

It made a nice change to have some tunes to listen, I think I'll do that again!

Great music choice! When I manage to run in daylight (not too often in winter unfortunately), I usually listen to music as well, and it's always from one of the various metal sub-genres, preferably the fast ones of course.

Thanks man! I have a wide and varied taste in music, but when exercising its gotta be loud and fast! 🤘
