Chelsea have agreed a £47.5million fee with Manchester City to sign forward Raheem Sterling, according to reports.

The 25-year-old is set to have a medical at the Blues’ training ground on Tuesday ahead of completing the move.

Sterling will become Chelsea’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech last month.

The 27-year-old is expected to undergo a medical examination in the near future. Chelsea is hopeful that a deal can be completed soon so that the England forward can join the club's pre-season tour in the United States.

Chelsea remain interested in signing Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling, despite being linked with moves for Leeds United's Raphinha and Everton's Richarlison.

It has been agreed upon by Sterling and the organization that he will be under a five-year contract with the option of a 12 month extension.

Sterling joined City from Liverpool in July 2015 for an initial fee of £49m and has played a key role in their success under Pep Guardiola.

He has won four Premier League titles, one FA Cup, and three League Cups at the Etihad Stadium. He has scored 131 goals in 339 appearances for the reigning Premier League champions.

Sterling could provide Tuchel with a guaranteed goal threat - he has directly contributed a combined 165 goals in the division in 320 appearances for Liverpool and City - as well as tactical flexibility and experience.

The 27-year-old believes he is at a pivotal point in his career and is eager to make a meaningful impact both on and off the pitch.

The fact that City can cede two attackers to members of the 'Big Six' - Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal for £45m and Sterling to Stamford Bridge - without trepidation is a sign of their solid recruitment and the gap that exists between the clubs.

City and Chelsea in talks over Ake

Chelsea and Manchester City have also engaged in discussions regarding a possible deal for Nathan Ake.

Chelsea are in need of defenders after the departures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger this summer. The Blues had shown interest in Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, but Sky Germany are reporting that the defender wants a switch to Bayern Munich this summer.

Ake, 27, left Chelsea for Bournemouth in 2017 after an initial loan spell. He then moved to City two years ago for £40m.

The Dutch centre-back saw his playing time limited at the Etihad Stadium last season, appearing in just 14 Premier League games under Pep Guardiola.
