The Absa premiership started five weeks ago with many clubs doing great. Maritzburg remains the only team with an unbeaten run in the league at the moment. They’ve played 5 matches, won 4 and drew 1, having a total of 11 points. Their unbeaten would have ended when they hosted Bloemfontein Celtic 2-2 at home on November 8. The late equalizer by Judas Moseamadi gave them the seal. They hope to extend their unbeaten run as they host SuperSport United in Pietermaritzburg on Wednesday evening.

SuperSport won three games on a streak when they defeated Bidvest Wits 1-0 in Johannesburg. Having taken 8 points from 6 away matches, they are a threat to Maritzburg.
Maritzburg coach Eric Tinkler said he is happy for the team and their performance from the start of the season. He furthered explained that the club had only gotten to the finals twice, and hopefully, they can end it off by lifting the trophy.

If SuperSport will end Maritzburg’s unbeaten run, Ronwen Williams will have to be super active, and be at his best with good support from team members. It will not be easy to beat Maritzburg on their home soil, but if they get themselves together, and play as a team, Maritzburg might be staring at their first defeat without knowing it.
