Worthing Beach : My Actifit Report Card: July 9 2025
Worthing promenade was our destination today. On this nice sunny day we decided to take a bus to the coast!
We alighted the bus right on the beach front! One of the first sights was the Worthing Pavilion Theatre.
Then, just beside the theatre was the ferris wheel. Not for me today! 🤣. Beside the pier were some boats, presumably small fishing boats. They were both marked with registration numbers and looked well kept, so they must be good to go!
We walked onto the pier to take a few pitures of the coast, and the view was absolutely fantastic. A great chance for some good shots!
The tide was low, with unbroken sunshine, this allowed a really great photo opportunity. The view was incredible in both directions from the pier. Temperatures were good and very warm but not yet at heatwave levels.

Hard to imagine 20 years ago I used to live in Worthing. It still looks the same run down type beach town.
Yes, indeed 🤣.
It was low tide and I noticed a large effluent pipe emerging on the beach, yuk!

Looks lovely on such a nice day. We took a very quick trip down to the coast last weekend. It was actually a bit chilly! We ended up around the Lee on Solent, Gosport area.
That sounds good, and somewhere I haven't been before. We used to go to Hayling Island a lot with our young kids for a couple of hours. Any longer and they got restless like all kids! 🤣
Hayling is an old favourite of ours. We often park up by where the ferry comes in and there’s a long shingle beach there that’s great to explore. The creeks on the other side are great for wildlife. Discovered online that there’s a disused railway line.
That sounds interesting. We just kept to the small car park next to an amusement arcade. There was everything a family with small children needed. As you say a nice shingle beach to sit on. Sand can be a nuisance, it gets into everything!

Yes I really like shingle for that very reason!

The beach! So lovely indeed esp. on a bright sunny day. Just curious, how long was the bus ride? Beautiful beaches are far from me, so it's been a while since I've been to the beach. That's on my vacation wish list at this time. 😆 Thank you for your beautiful photos.
An advance happy weekend...

The bus ride took about an hour and a half each way. Not too bad but the bus was a little hot and uncomfortable on our homeward journey.
I'm glad you like the pictures, it was lovely there. We just walked along the promenade and enjoyed a refreshment break in the beach cafe.
