A cloudburst! : My Actifit Report Card: November 1 2025
It was another stunningly sunny morning with no clouds at all! I didn't have an opportunity to get out for a ride until about midday. But thats when the clouds began to bubble up 😅.
I did have some nice warm sunshine for a while though. After the storms recently, the ground was wet, very wet inplaces. I got soaked and splattered with mud! It was fantastic! 🤣.
My route today was mostly tarmac, and the rest, off road where conditions were getting very sticky. I don't think it will be possible to ride these tracks for much longer.
At the half way point, I decided to take the roads back home. This took me down hill and past an old windmill, that had been moved from a location close to Gatwick Airport. The Lowfield Heath Windmill. At this point there was a cloudburst!
This windmill was moved and restored in 1999. As you can see, the information and display hoarding needs an upgrade.
By this time I was soaked to the skin and in need of a hot shower. So I didn't hesitate, and took the quickest route back via tarmac roads. A good ride though, and much needed as well! 😁.

The windmill is only for display and is a working relic of times gone by.
Moved from its original place in the middle of a field. It is a fascinating machine.

Wow what a biking adventure! No fun getting soaked in the rain. I can imagine it's a little challenging navigating the muddy roads. That's an interesting windmill. Glad they found a nice place for it. Happy new month ahead!

Don't worry. I'm prepared to get a soaking. Its part of the fun in autumn, but of course I'll avoid it if I can. It is a kind of lottery in showery weather, as the rain clouds are scattered.
