My Actifit RC: May 11th 23 - A long day alive in pink bike - IAAC #344

avatar

A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate the mythical community of Actifit.

After 72 hours of continuous torrential rains, the bad weather, today gives us a firm truce. Finally we see the blue sky that is the choreography to a frantic dance of white clouds.

Today my iamalivechallenge is colored pink and my succulent bush has decided to participate in the celebrations for the evening stage of the tour of Italy by bike that starts and arrives from Naples.

Also my neighborhood, Ponticelli, is waiting for the passage of the pink caravan and I arrive on foot from the other side of the village passing near the Basilica Minor of Our Lady of the Snow that stood out colored in the middle of an uncertain blue sky.

Arrived at via Argine I met a lot of friends who were ready to take the reprendre the passage of the champions of the pedal that had left 20 minutes before from Naples.

After a long wait the passage lasts a few seconds because of the very high travel rhythms at the beginning of the race.

After having entertained myself a bit to chat with the old friends present among the spectators I set off, crossing the old park of the neighborhood, towards Naples slowly because after four hours, around 17:30, the tour of Italy would arrive at the roundabout Diaz in Via Caracciolo on the Neapolitan seafront.

Getting off at Metro 2 in Piazza Amedeo I arrived at Via Crispi to get off via Arco Mirelli and tick off at the request of Chiaia at the American consulate in Naples.

From Mergellina to the roundabout Diaz the road had been transformed into a huge parking lot of buses of the sporting event and vehicles of the cycling teams while the rest of Via Caracciolo was fenced with indicators of the distance that was missing at the finish The last kilometer began on the pedestrian area of the liberated promenade.

In the middle of the sea there was a military boat anchored in the center of the Gulf of Naples on which guided tours were organized while a giant portacontainer kept company at the gigantic Castel dell'Ovo.

While waiting for the arrival of the cyclists I walk along Via Caracciolo and I stop to celebrate my #iamalivechallenge 344 in the midst of the strong sun rays that heated the Neapolitan sports afternoon.

The race was characterized by the solitary escape of two cyclists, the Italian De Marchi and the Australian Clarke, who were filmed in the last 300m right before my eyes, In fact, the ones you see on the left of that cell phone held by a neighbor of mine are the two fugitives and on the right is the group that is shooting them at crazy speed.

The stage was won by the Danish Mads Pedersen after the sprint that here you see preparing to water the public with a huge bottle of sparkling wine.

The Norwegian Andreas Leknessund is confirmed in the pink jersey with about thirty seconds ahead. I think he will keep his position for a long time because the first 10 stages are mostly flat and it is difficult to lose the top jersey in the general classification at the cycling tour of Italy. In the picture you can appreciate the gardening skills of the Scandinavian athlete whose splashes of sparkling wine have reached hundreds of meters.

For me, this beautiful stage #Alive sports, ends with a tour de force on foot towards the metro station 2 of Mergellina along the beautiful promenade where the refreshing buildings were all decorated with blue for the recent football triumph of the local team. In this photo, the Zurich bank, celebrates Naples with a banner.

And here I am, on the ascent of Piedigrotta to tell you that, Finally I would like to thank all my friends from the tribe of #Alive and all the new friends who happened between the lines of my stories for reading my thoughts and see you at the next #actifit report.

Hiya David!

You have all sorts of events going on there lately, and you're a great tour guide to the festivities! It's good that the weather was good for the event, as I imagine it wouldn't be much fun in the rain! Happy Friday! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Hi,
In fact, where there is chaos there is David.
Do I have any old PCs that advise me?
Arch Bang, Linux Lite or Lubuntu?
Also because today the bad weather is generating really scary storms and I think it will be difficult to get out of the house so I will dedicate my time to Linux!

Haha...you're always in the middle of it! Ooo, Linux! I'm very partial to Arch Linux of course, so the first would get my vote, though I don't know how its installer is. I haven't tried Linux Lite yet. Any variant of Ubuntu would generally be easy. That sounds like time well spent! I love it! Let me know how it goes! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Hi Tydyn,
I tried Linux Lite but I couldn’t install it and now I’m downloading Arch Bang... let’s see how this second attempt goes on this old Notebook with a Celeron duo!!!...

That computer is 64-bit, correct? Arch, and any Arch-based distro is exclusively for 64-bit, except of course Arch32 which is a 32-bit fork. I hope it goes well! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

That computer is 64-bit, correct?

Correct.
It’s a very old Compaq Presario CQ 62 with a dual core 64bit celeron T3300 (2 Ghertz) only Linux can save it.
I tried Linux Lite, Linux Mint, Lubuntu, Xubuntu, Peppermint and no one work
I tried Arch Bang and bang it work and it's punk!!!!! !LOL
I'm also trying a Fossapup: Puppy OS snd it’s another distro that it works very well on.
The latter I have to deepen because I’m a puppy on this operating system and it’s all much easier with this distro! Then I'll pass to Arch.

Ah, OK, excellent! I'm glad that Arch Bang worked for you! I haven't even heard of Puppy OS yet...😂! It's all good David, I know you'll learn and become accustomed to Linux quickly, and you'll be amazed at what you can do! That sounds like an excellent plan! I look forward to hearing how it goes! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Hey, I can easily use both because they run very well live on a USB drive.
I think Puppy Linux or fossapup is quite old is a 400 Mbyte ISO very nice.

Ah, yes, live media definitely comes in handy! Ah, doh! I do know Puppy Linux! I think I got confused when you you said Puppy OS. 400MB for a Linux installation ISO file is excellent! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
