My Actifit RC: May 22nd 23 - Rendez-vous in Naples with Alive sightseeing 5th - #iamalivechallenge 354

A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate the mythical community of Actifit

The easterly winds that have been blowing the Mediterranean for 48 hours have had a positive effect.
They kept away the Atlantic disturbances from Italy and the weather is not very cloudy and the air clear and clean. The temperatures are pleasant but the sun’s rays tend to overheat the territory. In short, we travel towards the summer.

At Noon I dedicated myself to cooking a dish of tortellini cream, ham and mushrooms with a decent final result and in fact I ate them giving myself the encore.

After going to the barber just started the afternoon I took the bus to Naples because I had an appointment with a friend who was in Naples for a dental visit. I showed up in Metro 1 in via Toledo

Down towards Piazza Plebiscito I stopped at Piazza Trieste and Trento where there is one of the main churches of the city of Naples, the church of San Ferdinando. In fact, I have always tried to determine which was the main church of the city but it is almost impossible. It is like saying that a woman is the most beautiful of all. In fact, out of a thousand churches in the city at least 10% could be defined as one of the main.

The church was begun to build in 1600 and took 120 years to complete. For some it will be biblical times but it is not strange to find works that were made slowly in the city and was dedicated to Saint Ferdinand of Aragon in honor of the Bourbon kings.

That the church was made by artists of considerable thickness is beginning to guess from the wonderful stoups on the sides of the entrances works of the prodigious Neapolitan sculptor Cosimo Fanzago.

Most of the paintings and frescoes are the work of the magnificent hand of the Baroque painter Paolo de Matteis to whom we owe this wonderful fresco on the central vault of the triumph of the church over heresy.

The magnificent altar was made by the sculptor Domenico Vaccaro, a prolific Neapolitan artist who was destined to become a lawyer but who later became a talented artist drawing secretly from his father.

At the top of the altar there is a very beautiful painting by an unknown artist skilfully highlighted by an orange light.

Of monumental beauty also the two transepts on the sides of the altar rich in fine sculptures and frescoes and paintings by de Matteis.

The church by the will of the architect is rather dark and dim except for the dome that shines inside the shadow.

In this ecclesiastical building are held the funerals of the most successful Neapolitan personalities in the entertainment environment and is therefore also known as the church of artists.

After this artistic interval my iamalivechallenge 354 is continued in the square of the Molosiglio where there is the nautical club and a great park where celebrate with pride and joy my long day alive.

Finally I finally met at the port of Naples my friend from Pocida who was returning from the dentist and we spent an hour at the bar together before she boarded and I returned home by subway.
