Sounds like you had a hell of a week. This heat is rough.
My oldest has started to become terrified of bugs. My youngest still loves them. The difference makes it a little tricky when I want to take my youngest out to catch some, but my oldest gets angry I'm leaving without him and accuses me of favoritism. le sigh someone should have told me kids would be tough...I may not have signed up for this. haha
Anyway, hope you had a good time.

Yeah, right? I signed up, but I didn’t sign up for this.
I re-listened to the George Carlin skit Kids are Assholes (or something like that) not too long ago, and it cracked me up. My kids, especially my son, are definitely going through a phase that isn’t fun to parent through.
It’s hard when their interests diverge. All those great tricks that you know and activities that worked in the past go out the window.
My son also went through that bugs are suddenly scary phase, but his best friend at school now likes them, so his interest in them is reawakening.
