Morning and night sky

avatar

It's the time of the month where I can finally do the things I like. Projects and tests have ended and I'm just going to spend my time freely but in a useful way. First day of starting holidays, I decided to wake up at 5am (something that I do once in a blue moon) because well, I hate waking up early.

Sooo, why did I wake up early today? I guess because these few days I kept thinking about my test, I have been waking up at 3am, 5am, 7am, 8am, unable to sleep/ afraid that I was late for my test.

Today, I woke up at 3am and 5am again although my test was over yesterday. I decided to just go down for a run and catch the sunrise at the same time (though I can't see it because of all the tall buildings), but I just wanted to capture beautiful sky pictures.

Here's a sun sunrise picture. Was about to go home and saw the sun hiding behind some trees and building so I thought maybe I should take another POV. So there I went, to the 15th floor of a HDB. And look 🌞

Enough! No more spoiler pictures. Walk through this journey with me to view them amazing photos :)

Start

I was on my way to a nearby park, 2 bus stops away and I saw the moon "on top" of the cloud and thought it would be nice as there was nothing blocking the moon. But my phone's camera couldn't capture it so the moon looked like a regular streetlight as seen in the 3 bright circle below.

1st park

I reached the park and quickly took 2 shots, both are from the same time frame and sky just with a slight left and right part of the sky. Guess I was too near to take one full shot but hey if I was further, the buildings would have blocked some parts.

Ran to the other side of the park's track and saw this dark looking walkway. The other streetlights have already been turned off but this one, it was lighting the pathway and with a different light (more yellowish).

Okay, I have no idea why it looked quite bright in the picture but I tried different angles and none of them looked as dark as what I saw. BUT the pathway really looked dark amidst this bright surrounding. AND the surrounding wasn't that bright either, I guess I still need to learn how to find a better angle.

I ran 4 rounds around the park before I was greeted with this view.

On my way to 2nd park

Looked up while I was waiting for the traffic and damn I saw this really nice spread out cloud with a faint of orange/pink. Look like the before version of a candy floss.

2nd park

Reached the park when it was still a little dark, the sun was not up that high yet. But the surroundings did not have much to show since this 2nd park had more buildings and trees. Ran 1 round (this park had a bigger running track) and after that, I walked to the back of the park and saw the moon still there.

Also took this when I went to a clearer surrounding.

No, the picture is not blur, I didn't move my phone to get this effect, it's just the clouds looking like that.

This was taken after my run, while I was walking to catch my breath. Was so bright my eyes hurt trying to take this picture😂 so had to shield my eyes while taking this picture. Don't have steady hands though... Lucky this picture came out decently well, not very blur. phew

I also tried to use the actifit app to track and wanted to post my activity using the app but I didn't know how to format it. Also was too lazy to find my posting key
I will just put my screenshot of the app here.

And the distance too.

Night

This was taken at home and the sky also looked really nice, I saw my house window turning different colours after awhile. It was really cool but there were buildings so I could only take a part of the sky. This was from the back part of my house. Took this picture in a rush actually because I had to do something so the angle wasn't that great.

Luckily, the sky turned a darker shade and I managed to capture one more picture at the back view of my house. Though the difference isn't that obvious, these 2 pictures were really taken in different time frames.

I was able to take the sky at the front view of the house too.

Not sure since when (I think last year mid june? Idk) but have been obsessed with sky and running around the house just to take pictures of nice sky. Not that my house is big but you get the point, time is key. Once you miss it, you miss it. Wonder what got into me😮
