Este torneo en realidad comenzó hace muchos meses, pero los equipos principales solo comenzaron a participar hoy. Las primeras etapas del torneo son entre equipos más pequeños y las grandes comienzan en enero en dieciseisavos de final.
El Real Madrid acaba de perder su primer partido del año contra el Getafe, y este equipo necesitaba ganar este partido para evitar una espiral negativa. Creo que muchos de los jugadores todavía tenían un poco de resaca después de las fiestas de Año Nuevo, y quizás esa sea la razón por la que jugaron tan mal ante el Getafe.
El Alcoyano es un equipo de tercera división y la temporada pasada venció al Real Madrid en este mismo torneo, por lo que se puede decir que los jugadores del Real Madrid buscan un poco de revancha. No es común, pero ciertamente sucede de vez en cuando que un equipo grande pierde de repente contra uno muy pequeño en la copa. Los grandes equipos utilizan este torneo en sus primeras etapas para rotar a algunos jugadores y dar minutos a los que no han jugado mucho hasta ahora. ¿Cómo estuvo el partido?

This tournament actually began many months ago, but the main teams only started to participate today. The first stages of the tournament are between smaller teams, and the big ones start in January in the round of 32.
Real Madrid just lost their first match of the year against Getafe, and this team really needed to win this match in order to prevent a negative spiral to take place. I believe many of the players were still a little hangover after the New Year parties, and this might have been the reason they played so badly against Getafe.
Alcoyano is a team from the third division and last season they defeated Real Madrid in this same tournament, so it can be said Real Madrid players are looking for a little revenge. It is not common but it certainly happens from time to time that a big team suddenly loses against a very small one in the cup. The big teams use this tournament in its early stages to rotate some players and provide minutes to those that havençt played much so far. However, the risk of doing this is of course suffering a humiliating defeat against a clearly inferior rival.
Since Real Madrid already suffered this last year, I think it is very unlikely for this result to repeat this time, especially against the same team. Therefore, I expected to see a decent performance by Real Madrid players, a lot of dedication and effort by Alcoyano's players.
How was the match?
Surprisingly, the match was very even since the beginning. Both teams were able to create their attacks and finish them with proper shots, but no goals were scored in the first 30 minutes.
Alcoyano también estaba haciendo un gran trabajo dando lo mejor de sí y jugando lo mejor que podía. Se notaba que estaban totalmente concentrados en este partido e intentando derrotar al Real Madrid por segunda vez consecutiva.
El partido se empezaba a aburrir un poco, pero en el minuto 39, el Real Madrid hizo un saque de esquina, Rodrygo hizo un centro al área y, de la nada, Militao aparece corriendo muy rápido sin cobertura defensiva y él logró dar un cabezazo justo en frente del portero cuando este intentaba atrapar el balon con las manos. El gol fue fruto de la confusión en la defensa de Alcoyano porque ninguno de ellos consiguió tapar adecuadamente los movimientos de Militao.
El Real Madrid no era el equipo con más tiros a su favor, pero era el equipo más efectivo. Este gol seguramente redujo el estrés y la presión en los jugadores del Real Madrid, y esto les permitió jugar de una manera mucho más relajada.
La primera parte llegó a su fin, y el Real Madrid tuvo la ventaja y la confianza psicológica que empezó a mostrar al inicio de la segunda parte donde el equipo que más ataques creó fue el Real Madrid. Incluso hubo un increíble disparo de Alaba desde fuera del área que se fue muy cerca de la red.
Irónicamente, el primer gol de la segunda parte lo marcó Alcoyano alrededor de los 66 minutos a pesar de que el Real Madrid estaba jugando mejor. Fue una jugada individual de Daniel Vega Cintas por la banda derecha del terreno de juego, supo entrar al área, y luego encontró la manera de girarse para hacer un disparo con el pie izquierdo. El gol fue espectacular y el mejor de todo el partido.
Alcoyano was also doing a great job giving their best and playing as well as they could. It was noticeable they were fully focused in this match, and trying to defeat Real Madrid for the second consecutive time.
The match was starting to get a little bit boring, but around the 39-minute mark, Real Madrid had a corner kick, Rodrygo crossed the ball into the area, and out of nowhere, Militao appears running very fast with no defensive cover and he managed to give a header right in front of the goalkeeper when he was trying to catch the ball with his hands. The goal was the result of confusion in Alcoyano's defense because none of them were able to properly cover Militao's movements.
Real Madrid wasn't the team with the most shots in their favor, but they were the most effective team. This goal surely reduced the stress and pressure in Real Madrid's players, and this allowed them to play in a much more relaxed manner.
The first half came to an end, and Real Madrid had the advantage as well as the psychological confidence which started to show at the beginning of the second half where the team that created the most attack was Real Madrid. There was even an incredible shot by Alaba from outside the area that went very close to the net.
Ironically, the first goal in the second half was scored by Alcoyano around the 66-minute mark even though Real Madrid was playing better. It was an individual play from Daniel Vega Cintas over the right side of the pitch, and he was able to enter the area, and then found the way to turn himself in order to make a shot with his left foot. The goal was spectacular and the best one of the entire match.
El tercer gol del Real Madrid ocurrió un par de minutos después, fue una jugada muy desordenada con un error horrible de la defensa del Alcoyano en la que un defensor intentaba patear el balón fuera del área, este rebota en otro defensor y esto dejó a Isco solo con el balón frente al portero. El disparo final también fue muy desordenado y, al final, se consideró gol en propia puerta porque el portero fue el último en tocar la pelota. Incluso se puede considerar una jugada graciosa debido a lo caótica que fue.
Creo que el Real Madrid tuvo algo de suerte en esos dos goles y, en definitiva, eso le permitió ganar este partido, continuar de cara a la siguiente ronda de la Copa del Rey y evitar repetir la misma derrota humillante del año pasado contra el mismo equipo.
El Alcoyano hizo un buen partido, marcó un gol asombroso, pero lamentablemente esta vez no pudo derrotar al gigante. Fue un buen partido y proporcionó suficiente entretenimiento para todos los que lo vieron.
¿Qué sigue?
Durante las próximas semanas seguiré viendo más partidos de LaLiga, así como algunos partidos de Copa del Rey, y también hay un nuevo Clásico gracias a la Supercopa. Espero que ese partido sea muy divertido. La Liga de Campeones no volverá hasta febrero, por lo que las competiciones nacionales por ahora es lo único que se puede ver por ahora.

The third Real Madrid's goal happened a couple of minutes after, it was a very messy play with a horrible mistake from Alcoyano's defense in which a defensive player was trying to kick the ball outside the area, it bounces in another defensive player and this left Isco alone with the ball in front of the goalkeeper. The final shot was also very messy, and in the end, the goal was considered an own goal by the goalkeeper. It can even be considered a funny play due to how chaotic it was.
I believe Real Madrid had some good luck in both of those 2 goals, and ultimately, this allowed them to win this match, continue for the next round of Copa del Rey's matches, and avoiding to repeat the same humiliating defeat from last year against the same team.
Alcoyano played a good match, they scored an amazing goal, but unfortunately, this time they couldn't defeat the giant. It was a good match and provided enough entertainment for everyone watching it.
What's next?
For the next weeks I will continue to watch more LaLiga matches, as well as some Copa del Rey's matches, and there is also a new El Clasico thanks to the Supercup. I am hoping that match to be very fun. The Champions League won't return until February so it is all national competitions for now.

Buenas noche amigo, efectivamente fue un gran partido y aunque el Real Madrid cumplió y jugo varios que no son titulares, creo que debe mejorar en muchos aspectos, un juego muy flojo, desde su primer partido del año, yo soy fanático del Madrid, pero no me gusta este ritmo de juego con el comenzaron, necesitan un delantero bueno que supla a Benzema, cuando este no esta, Hazard muy mal, las expectativas con este jugador eran muy altas, lamentablemente no cumplió y Marcelo ya dio lo que tenia que dar. El Madrid debe ajustar y volver a su orden, ya que hoy le alcanzo, pero contra un grande es difícil que ganen jugando así. Muy buena publicaciones. Saludos y un fuerte abrazo.
Está claro que el Madrid está teniendo un bajon físico, es cuestión de ver qué tan grave termina siendo. Los próximos 2 partidos son contra buenos rivales, Valencia y Barcelona, y allí se podrá ver mejor como está el equipo de verdad. Espero que Vinicius pueda regresar para el partido contra el Valencia, se nota que hace falta.

Por otro lado, siempre es bueno ver a equipos inferiores darlo todo por vencer a un grande, lastima que esta vez no pudieron ganar. Debe ser frustrante para ells este tipo de torneos, llegar a instancias decisivas con los de su nivel y cuando entran los de 1ra division todo se acaba.
Sí debe ser frustrante para los equipos pequeños, pero también es cierto que todos los años sucede lo mismo la mayoría de las veces.
