Ahora mismo, este pequeño equipo se encuentra en la posición número 3 del grupo, y está matemáticamente clasificado al menos para la Europa League. Si hubiesen ganad este partido hubieran podido alcanzar la posición número 1 o 2, y clasificar para los octavos de final de la Champions League. Personalmente, desde un comienzo pensaba que el Real Madrid y el Inter iban a ser los clasificados y el Sheriff irá a para la Europa League, pero las sorpresas siempre pueden ocurrir en el fútbol.
En cuanto al Real Madrid, antes del partido, me alegré de ver a Rodrygo de nuevo en la alineación y jugando junto a Vinicius y Benzema. Son mi trío ofensivo favorito en el Real Madrid, y el equipo suele ganar cuando juegan juntos. Estoy bastante seguro de que los jugadores del Real Madrid querían vengar su derrota por el anterior partido contra este rival.
¿Cómo fue el partido?
La actitud de Sheriff en los primeros minutos me sorprendió. Al igual que en el primer partido, jugaron sin miedo alguno, completamente confiados en sus posibilidades de derrotar al Real Madrid por segunda vez. Que es exactamente como deben jugar los equipos pequeños cuando se enfrentan a equipos más grandes, con fiereza y con cero miedo para que todo sea más emocionante para los espectadores.
Alrededor del minuto 7, hubo una gran jugada de ataque del Real Madrid, donde Rodrygo entró en el área de Sheriff e intentó un gran pase que seguramente habría terminado como un gol si no fuera por un jugador defensivo que lo detuvo antes de que llegara a Benzema.
El Real Madrid tenía el control del balón, pero el Sheriff no sólo se centró en la defensa, sino también en el ataque. Esto impidió que el Real Madrid se sintiera demasiado cómodo en el terreno de juego, y como resultado, el partido fue muy intenso desde el principio.

If they had won this match they would have had some chances of achieving position number 1 or 2, which would have allowed them to qualify for the Round of 16 in the Champions League. Personally, I think Real Madrid and Inter were the favorites since the beginning and with Sheriff having high chances of going to the Europa League, but surprises can always happen in football.
Regarding Real Madrid, before the match, I was happy to see Rodrygo back in the lineup and playing along with Vinicius and Benzema. They are my favorite attacking trio at Real Madrid, and the team usually wins when they play together. I am pretty sure Real Madrid's players were looking to avenge their defeat in their previous match against this rival.
How was the match?
Sheriff's attitude in the first few minutes surprised me. Just like in the first match, they played with no fear whatsoever, completely confident in their possibilities to defeat Real Madrid for a second time. Which is exactly how small teams should play when facing bigger teams, fiercely and with zero fear to make everything more exciting for the viewers.
Around the 7 minute mark, there was a great attacking play from Real Madrid, where Rodrygo entered Sheriff's area and attempted a great pass that would have surely ended as a goal if it wasn't for a defensive player that stopped it before it reached Benzema.
Real Madrid was in control of the ball, but Sheriff wasn't only focused on defending but also on attacking. This prevented Real Madrid from getting too comfortable on the pitch, and as a result, the match was very intense from the start.
Rodrygo was more active and creative than Vinicius at the beginning of the match. It is hard to figure out which one of them has more potential for the future, what's obvious is that both are among the best wingers in the world. Right now, in this season, Vinicius has proven to be better, but he arrived at Real Madrid a year earlier, which means he has had more time to get used to the new city, team, and the huge pressure of playing in such a big team.

Alaba fue el jugador encargado de ejecutar el tiro, y por suerte para él, el balón fue desviado por un jugador de Sheriff y entró en la red. Around the 29 minute mark, Real Madrid was able to obtain a free-kick right at the border of Sheriff's area. Alaba was the player in charge of shooting it, and luckily for him, the ball was deflected by a Sheriff's player and it went inside the net. If it wasn't for that deflection, the goalkeeper would have probably stopped the goal. This was the first free-kick goal from Alaba in Real Madrid, and I am sure there will be many more to come.
The 1 goal advantage was fair in my opinion, as the majority of the attacking plays were from Real Madrid, and they were the team with the most initiative so far.
When the first half was about to end, around the 44-minute mark, Real Madrid had another free-kick very similar to the one Alaba scored, this time it was Benzema who was in charge of shooting him, but the ball hit the barrier and any possible danger was neutralized.
A few seconds later, and the referee could have ended the first half even before this play, Real Madrid produced another attacking play from their right side of the pitch. Modric passed the ball to Rodrygo who started an inside move, he then gave a nice pass to Kroos right outside the area, and with a soft shot, which is typical of Kroos, he send the ball to the top bins for a spectacular goal. The referee needed to confirm the goal with his smartwatch, because the ball merely bounced past the goal line, and then it went out on its own. Thanks to a chip, it was confirmed the ball completely surpassed the goal line, and therefore, it was validated. It was a terrific goal and it allowed Real Madrid to now have a well-deserved 2 goal advantage over their rivals.
I really liked Sheriff's attitude at the beginning of the second half. They were creating attacking play after attacking play, and giving their best attempts at scoring a goal. Real Madrid's defense was very solid and all of these attacking plays were neutralized one way or another. Alaba and Militao are proving to be an excellent defensive duo, and they seem to be playing better as time goes on.
Sheriff's attitude didn't last much though. Real Madrid was able to quickly regain control of the match, and soon enough, the ball was spending the majority of the time on Sheriff's side of the pitch. Around the 55 minute mark, Mendy was doing a very basic move towards the center of the pitch near Sheriff's area, Benzema had no defensive player near him so he receives the ball just outside the area, and then makes a great crossed shot that went inside. The third goal was not only a nice and simple one, but it also proved Sheriff had no chance of stopping Real Madrid no matter how hard they tried.

A diferencia del partido anterior entre estos 2 equipos, donde el Real Madrid hizo casi todas las jugadas de ataque para perder irónicamente al final, en este partido, ambos equipos fueron capaces de crear ataques emocionantes. Por eso creo que Sheriff realmente merecía marcar al menos 1 gol en este partido.
El ritmo del partido comenzó a disminuir alrededor de los 70 minutos. Estaba claro que el Real Madrid iba a ganar este partido y no había mucho que hacer en los minutos restantes para cualquier equipo. Hubo algunos buenos ataques, especialmente un par de disparos de Asensio, pero el resultado final no cambió.

Despite Real Madrid's general dominance, Sheriff never stopped having opportunities to score a goal. One of their best moments was in the 67-minute mark when they had not only 3 consecutive goal attempts, but one of them, a header, hit the post. Unlike the previous match between these 2 teams, where Real Madrid did almost all the attacking plays to ironically lose at the end, in this match, both teams were able to create exciting attacks. This is why I believe Sheriff really deserved to score at least 1 goal in this match.
The pace of the match began to slow down around the 70-minute mark. It was clear that Real Madrid was going to win this match and there was not much to do in the remaining minutes for either team. There were some nice attacks, especially a couple of shots from Asensio, but the final result remained unchanged.
In the end, Real Madrid obtained a well-deserved victory, that guarantees their qualification for the next round, and Sheriff will be playing the Europa League next year, which is an important achievement for them as well. The match was entertaining, and both teams could have scored more goals.
What's next?
The next matches I plan to watch are league matches this weekend. There will finally be a lot of consecutive weeks with club's matches with no interruptions from the national selections, and there will be several exciting matches to watch soon enough in the remaining weeks of this year. The winners of the individual trophies such as The Best and Ballon d'Or will also be announced in the coming weeks.
In the Champions League, there is still another match from the group stage remaining, and in the case of Real Madrid and Sheriff's group, the first position will be decided in the next match between Inter and Real Madrid.

El Madrid y la seleccion de España son unos de los equipos que mas anotan por desvio haha.
Se cumplieron tus pronosticos en cuanto a los clasificados para octavos en este grupo, recuerdo cuando hablamos en la primera jornada que me indicabas eso, ahora dime quien sera campeon 😆
El Sheriff tiene un merecido tercer lugar, si mantienen su buen nivel de futbol quizas puedan llegar a instancias finales en Europa League, a pesar de perder el dia de ayer contra los merengues jugaron bien.
Pensar que el Real Madrid y el Inter iban a pasar de ronda no era muy díficil, el Inter es el campeón de Italia y el Real Madrid es de los más grandes. Los otros 2 equipos son mucho más pequeños.
Para favoritos del torneo, veo al Bayern, Chelsea, y un poco menos favorito a City y Liverpool. Como quinto favorito pondría al Real Madrid.
