Germany ties again, this time against Switzerland while Spain destroys Ukraine 4-0

The Nations League continues and today I saw the match between Germany and Switzerland. In the first match, Germany had a boring match vs Spain that ended 1-1. The Germans had the advantage but they conceded a goal in the last minute of the match.

Today, their match also ended 1-1 vs a team that is in theory not as good as Germany or Spain. The current German squad is in a period of transition, which is why players such as Muller weren't included. The coach wants to make room for younger players, allow them time to mature and gain experience so they can be at their best for the next European Championship and World Cup. This team is missing a top-level striker.

While it is true that Gnabry was allowed to rest after winning the Champions League and he didn't participate in these matches, he isn't a central striker. He is an extremely talented wing with a lot of speed, strength, and goal. He could certainly help the German squad in the attack but the team would still be missing a central striker. If they don't solve their issue when it comes to scoring goals, they won't be able to compete properly, and solving this issue without a good striker seems very difficult.

Spain on the other hand was able to beat Ukraine 4-0. Sergio Ramos scored 2 goals, a penalty, and a header. Ansu Fati scored an excellent goal from outside the box and was the best player of the match, he also caused the penalty that Ramos scored by doing some good movements inside the box. The last goal was from Ferran Torres, a young player from Manchester City.

Just as in Germany, Spain is also in the middle of a transition, just to put something into perspective, in these 2 matches Spain scored 5 goals. The first one was from Gaya, a 25-year-old player, Ramos scored 2, he is a 34yo defense but is still top-notch, he is Spain and Real Madrid captain, Ansu Fati he is currently 17 and he already appears to be the best player for Spain, and Ferran Torres is 20 years old.

Spain is able to compete at the highest level using new players that are extremely young. It is true that Spain doesn't have a top-notch striker but at least in this match, they were able to create a lot of goals. This tournament is just beginning but Spain appears to be one of the strongest teams.

I still think France is the number 1 candidate to win this tournament, they have top-notch strikers that are young such as Mbappe, and they also have excellent players anywhere you look. I am looking forward to their match against Croatia next Tuesday. Tomorrow I might watch between the Netherlands vs Italy but I am not sure.
