El día de ayer tuvimos el partido de ida por las semifinales de la Copa del Rey entre Real Madrid y Barcelona, y en lo personal me pareció un partido bastante curioso porque vimos a un Real Madrid jugando al toque, y a un Barcelona jugando muy enfocado en su defensa.

Este planteamiento del Barcelona, me pareció lo más inteligente debido a las ausencias importantes que tenía en el ataque, y debido a que al Real Madrid usualmente se le complica hacerle daños a equipos que se encierran atrás.

Pienso que el Madrid quizás mereció un empate, pero lo más notable fue el trabajo defensivo del Barcelona, demostrando una vez más porque han recibido tan pocos goles en la Liga. Pienso que Xavi le volvió ganar la partida a Ancelotti, y lo mejor es que todavía nos queda una revancha. O bueno, en realidad 2, porque aún faltan por jugar un clásico por Liga, y luego el segundo clásico por la vuelta de estas semifinales de la Copa del Rey.

Por ahora, Xavi lleva merecidamente una ventaja en su duelo ante Ancelotti.

Yesterday we had the first leg of the semifinals of the Copa del Rey between Real Madrid and Barcelona, and personally I thought it was a very curious match because we saw a Real Madrid focused on passing the ball, and a Barcelona very focused on their defense.

This approach of Barcelona I thought was very intelligent because of the important absences they had in the attack, and because Real Madrid usually has a hard time playing against teams that only care about their defense.

I think Madrid maybe deserved a tie, but the most remarkable thing was Barcelona's defensive work, showing once again why they have conceded so few goals in La Liga. I think Xavi won the game again against Ancelotti, and the best thing is that we still have a rematch. Or well, actually 2 rematchs, because there is still a clasico to be played for LA Liga, and then the second clasico for the return of these semifinals of the Copa del Rey.

For now, Xavi deservedly has an advantage in his duel against Ancelotti.
