Apr. 6, 22: Routine, PIMP Meeting, Teaching, NFT Debate, and Games

[I’ve gotten a pretty good start on this post for today, got the structure done and all that, but looking to get my errands done early this morning, so I’m fixing to leave here very shortly and might not be back in to get it done properly. Time will tell.]

Got to bed late and had a bit of a rough time getting to sleep. The wife was snoring, and since she was already on her side, I figured shaking her to roll over wouldn’t do much good. Even if she stopped for a while, it would wake me up again when she started again, so I just went out and slept on the living room couch. Made it from ten to six, so only about an hour short this time. 😢

Did all the usual morning routine and found cryptos pulling back hard. BTC was pushing $47k, but dumped back down to around $44…whales playing with the retail investors; they got too confident with their longs and they got liquidated (over half a billion dollars worth in the last three days). That’s the danger of leverage and options!

I was surprised to find BAL moving very much contrary to the rest of the market! Popped all the way up over $19! 🤑 I actually made back a tiny fraction against ETH on that pop! I need MATIC to take the hint and do the same…getting back above $2 would help.

Otherwise, just the usual staking and shifting tokens, didn’t make any market moves today.

Got everything ready for teaching today; prepared what I was going to teach, made my lunch, rolled up some smokes, got a shower, and got my post ready to go. I needed gas and the PIMP meeting was about to start and I needed to post (goddamn brofund bot), so I was a bit stressed there right around ten o’clock, but it worked out and the drive was fine despite a small backup, so I was there with time to spare.

We picked up with the problem we left off on Monday in Algebra and then I showed them the method of partial fractions as another motivation for solving systems of equations. We also used row reduction to find the inverse of a matrix. We’re getting lots and lots of practice with it, but it is fairly tedious and involved.

Let them out just about on time and then headed out for lunch. I have, at least, found a spot where I can park and get a decent cell signal. 👍 Ate lunch, got caught up on Discord, and watched some YouTube to kill the time.

Went back in for Calculus class and we pretty much just drilled more and more complicated u-sub problems. At the end of the class one of the students said “That was fun!” And I said “Dork!” 🤣 It was fun, but it does take a special kind of person to enjoy doing math like that. 🤓👍

The drive home was fine and I got back and settled in shortly after five. Wenche got home but had a get together with the local ladies’ group, so I made myself some leftover pasta for dinner.

Basically spent most of the rest of the evening chatting and joking around over in Pizza server. We did end up getting embroiled in a conversation about what it means for a token to be fungible or not. I provided both the dictionary and legal definitions and yet people still argued that unique=not fungible. 🤬 It was a lively discussion, though, despite being frustrating as hell. 🤣

Also it came up about outpost curation. Nobody was sure, but it seems tied only to stake and not to tags. I believe I was able to verify that this morning:

Got the curation, but the post didn’t have the tag! It could have been posted through Waivio, but I think that’s unlikely; still, to be fair, I’m not certain about that.

That was pretty much it for the day. Played out my Splinterlands quest way late, but luckily it didn’t take too long. Got ready for bed and laid down, but was still awake when Wenche got home. Had a bit of difficulty getting to sleep, but did eventually.

[Well, I’d hoped to have been doing by errands and perhaps on the way back by now already, but did my post instead…hopefully not going to have to post while I’m driving, but that’s what it’s looking like. 😡]

Oh, man! I should have expected it. dShitty is right back where it was, stating zero income and then delivering single digit SIM. Five words for five SIM: dShitty licks my sweaty taint.

Still nothing interesting going on with Rising Star. I did a couple missions (I think I went back in again 🤔), but my Ego is rising again, so it’s back to lessons again. Kind of thought I would have broken 100k Starbits by now, but never underestimate the slowness of progress on this game.

I did go into the HashKings Discord and asked about the site not updating since Sunday. Several hours later the response was “what site” and “farming is working.” Which are clearly not the truth. I was a bit pissed off, but answered the question and was told that they weren’t aware the mobile site was broken and they were working on it.

As of this morning [Thursday], same thing as Sunday. 🤬. Behind on both harvests now…it’s one thing to be barely functional, it’s another to have it be so broken it hampers all gameplay. 😡 Not dumping out yet, but been seriously considering it.

I played my Splinterlands quest really today. I totally thought I’d taken my progress pics for the day, but I guess I didn’t and my quest reset when I went in this morning.

Got Dragon for my quest today and it went really smoothly! Still took some time, but had a nice win streak and made some progress in the ranks. Not exactly the greatest rewards, but a little more deck power:

Staked my SPS drop for the day, which fell by yet another one. 🤬 Not sure whether to mess with it or not…the more I get, the more my balance remains pegged to $5k.

Had the big blowout sale of my vouchers yesterday, so nothing happening with that today…am looking for a place to park my newly acquired funds, though. I have heard a hint that they’ll be needed for the next release, so we’ll see if it’s smart to have hung onto as many as I have.
