Dec. 2, 21: Routine, Early Teaching, Errands, Oculus, TV, and Games

Got up right about five this morning. Didn’t sleep quite as well tonight and ended up an hour and a half short. Didn’t drag so hard that I needed a nap, but my productivity is (and has been) much lower than I’m happy with.

Checked the crypto markets and even though we’re seeing some pullback in HIVE, we’re still well above two dollars, which is fantastic! Also good to see MATIC finally starting to rise significantly against ETH! Takes a little of the sting off my losses over there.

Was working on getting prepared for today’s class and realized that I only had like ten minutes or so to get my post done and scheduled before I needed to get ready to go. Quick got the dry bare bones done and headed in.

Drive in was a little better than on Tuesday, but I still hit a pretty bad backup right at the end of the drive. Even so I was a good ten minutes or more early.

I went over the examples I got stuck on last class. Not sure if it was entirely worth it…I think most of the students tuned out for the majority of the surface area one. It was pretty nasty, to be honest.

We reviewed for Exam 3 by going through similar questions. It’s short and really easy, actually.

Got home and grabbed a sandwich for lunch as usual and then took the doggy for a ride into town to the puffity-puff store. Once I got back from town I kind of slowed down again, but there was a new update for the Oculus and so I wanted to check it out.

The new feature that I was really interested in seeing was the new live overlay. I’ve seen people do it with like green screen and stuff, but now you can do it natively on an iPhone (the one time having iPhone was an advantage).

I got it connected and streaming to the phone and did a few runs on Beat Saber not realizing that it was casting but not recording. Figured out how to record and where the files end up, but the synching had issues and none of the recordings actually worked. 😭

My phone battery was almost toast and it was nearly time for Wenche to come home, so I left it for now, will have to try again.

I got a very generous Christmas gift from my Dad…that got me spinning again about the Model A and whether to put a bit of that into taking the brakes back to original. Thought I’d resigned myself to dealing with the hydraulics, but I’m back and forth again.

She made us turkey tacos for dinner and we watched Harold and Kumar’s Christmas movie. Despite trying my hardest, though, I didn’t make it to the end. Fell asleep (and slept through the night) with my clothes still on and everything.

Noice. Guess it had been a day or two since dShitty was just shitty in General, so right about on cue. I did get some BXT for holding SIM (I think that was why), so that does add an additional (small) income stream…

I have a glimmer of hope for a way out of CryptoSuckmaster…I can link a WAX wallet. Maybe I can get my stuff into WAX and try and dump it there before they put a paywall in the way? I figure it’s unlikely, though…there’s probably already a wall up somewhere. I tried to log in to see if it’s possible, but I just got a server maintenance screen. 😡

I did remember to go in on Rising Star a couple times today. Did a lesson and then switched back to missions. Seems like that Ego bump was due to a high number of temporary drunk fans, I’m back to around ten percent again.

I got a relatively early start on my Splinterlands quest today, didn’t want to leave it till as late as I usually do and then get frustrated that I can’t go to bed until I get it done.

I’d already lost a day and so I just gave in and finished my Fire splinter quest in Silver.

Kind of a joke:

I had Water splinter for my quest today and I was able to get back into Gold, at least, before completing it. Bit better on the rewards this time, got a few cards and a rare:

I went in to the market for a bit and did some looking around but couldn’t really justify most of them…I did grab a few more of the Mercenary, though, that one is a tempting option for relatively cheap.

Otherwise, still just waiting to be able to open the new packs and staking up my SPS in the meantime. I still have a voucher on the market, but they’ve been low, so haven’t pulled the trigger there.
