Dec. 25, 21: Routine, Oculus, Pi Mainnet, Hard Nap, Christmas Dinner, TV, and Games
Got up at five thirty this morning. Been quite consistent with that, which is great! I did get to bed a bit late last night, but even so clocked in a solid eight hours. š Iāve been getting pretty solid sleep for a while now, so Iām not really sure why I keep crashing in the afternoon. Fell asleep hard today, which definitely doesnāt help with productivity. š¢
Did all the usual morning stuff. Did some curation, watched some YouTube, hit the faucets, checked the crypto markets and my DeFi investments, did my post for the day, shifted a butt-ton of H-E tokens, did some dishes, all the normal thingsā¦
I suppose one interruption to my usual morning routine (always go in and click my Pi miner for the day) was that Pi has announced that theyāre going to be launching the Mainnet. Itās big news in that sense, been mining since just after the very beginning and have quite a few built upā¦but it requires a whole series of steps including downloading a completely different app (not to bad), setting up a non-custodial wallet (also not too bad), and the kicker in order to transfer the tokens to Mainnet you (and your āsecurity teamā) have to KYC. š”š¤¬š”š¤¬
Now, I do understand that thereās money laundering issues and terrorism funding issues and all the stuff they need to comply with in order to be above board with government requirements, but thereās trust issues there on my sideā¦donāt like voluntarily giving my identity to anyone, let alone a centralized crypto entity (and through a third party - which is even suckier!).
Itās a frustrating decision to make either to walk away from having spent years clicking the button every day (as well as whatever value the coins may end up having) and handing them all my information. I suppose I donāt expect that they have any nefarious purposes with that data, but whoās to say, and whoās to say they donāt get hacked or compromised in some way. Itās a tough one for myself, let alone my Mom and wife who are part of my earning team. š”š¢
Still been keeping at it with my foot, scrubbing and treating twice a day. At this point Iām seeing significant improvement, but I canāt pat myself on the back too much since it still basically hurts all the time (hard not to remember to take of). Iāve been trying to take care of my toenails as well (tried before, but theyāve been gross since high school and never really went away), and Iām actually starting to see a difference in them! š„³ Small victories, I suppose, small victories.
BTC holding above $50k now, but did see a little red from the pop to $51k yesterday. HIVE saw a nice pump up another ten cents or soā¦hoping that itās not just going to immediately come back to the $1.6 level, but nice to see some solid greed candles there! MATIC is also doing really well with double digit gains and gaining more against ETH than before. My collateral has risen in value significantly and Iām considering borrowing some more against it. I did go in and harvest FIRE (less than a buck š”) and converted it to MATIC to continue making trx fees sustainable and put my Aave interest into a deposit of WETH to go directly against my original investment. Still have thousands to make back, but at least for now Iām doing better than I was! š
I got my post done and shared and all that and then played some more Song in the Smoke. I tried moving into the next area, but was dumb and didnāt save my progress, got killed and lost it all. Tried again and got a much better start, but missing a pair of gloves that I made in the last go. Iāve got my base camp established and found two of the three quest stones, but been struggling with finding food and keeping my hunger under control.
Having made some good progress and locked it in with a save, I switched over for a few rounds of Beat Saber. Didnāt get any new high scores or anything, just played to get some moving around in.
Grabbed my lunch, looked at the computer, and laid down and put on a movie. š I didnāt make it very long into it, for sure (was boring as hell the part I watched) and I crashed out hard for two solid hours! Not quite sure why I felt so worn out, but it is what it is and another afternoon went whoosh!
In the evening I cut my hair and shaved and showered and headed over to Momās house for shrimp š¤ dinner. She made a HUGE amount of food! Was good, thoughā¦shrimp and pasta and spinach pie and lemon wedges for dessert. Lady, of course, looooves my attention and was on my lap quite a bitā¦Dude was super jealous, I guess, and more or less whined through the whole time we were there.
He was whimpering at the door, so I let him out and, as I expected, he got selective hearing and started running around the back yard and into the neighborsā yards. I went after him and in the process stepped in several piles of dog crap! 𤬠I figured that was the definitive sign that it was time to get a new pair and I just threw them out, not worth messing with.
I called my Dad after dinner to wish him a Merry Christmas and the vax talk started. Seems like Mom wants me to get it now too. š± You know, I was skeptical in the beginning just because it was experimental and under emergency authorization, so I figured Iād just wait and watch. If, after six months or a year, I had seen that the numbers of cases were significantly declining or that it was clear that it prevented infection or transmission, being around people I would have certainly taken the risk and gotten it.
However, itās still ongoing and cases seem to be independent of vaccine and itās now two and a booster with possibly (many? endless?) more - how effective could it be faced with that information?! We still have no idea what the long-term effects will be and some studies (Israeli) have shown that natural immunity is 13X more effective than the vaxā¦between the conflicts of interest and the possibility of cancers and decreased immune system (making people dependent) just seems not worth it; no matter how hard I try to convince myself, something tells me itās wrong, that taking it is a mistake. Honestly, I donāt know of any other product that you canāt sue if it harms you and blames its failure on those who donāt use it. š¤·
I was up later than usual and I tried to put on the Detectorists to watch the last episode (third attempt š¤£), but Prime was erroring out for some reason. Just put on something from Netflix and fell asleep not long after.
Had a nice Shopping Mall robbery in my dShitty today. I guess with the pop in HIVE price even further thereās been some ācalculationsā to make sure we get less.
Still utterly pissed off by CryptoFuckmaster. I suppose thereās not much else to say about that.
Seems like I did a mission or two today, at least one anyway. I am getting pretty close to unlocking the next mission now, but although it does earn more XP, the levels get even longer, so will probably represent about the same amount of slogging as the last one did. My whole goal there is to unlock more slots for my band, but I donāt think it really makes that much of a difference. š¤·
Once again, I could not summon (pun intended) the desire to play Splinterlands. I still went in and staked my SPS drop, and so lamented my decision and the consequences Iām going to face getting buried even deeper under the dogpile. Kindaā thinking I should at least try and get back into Gold to help it slightly, but havenāt really wanted to feel my forehead all scrunched up so hard it canāt scrunch any further. š¤¬š
Lost all my brawl battles, so that was nice to add onto the losing streak. š
The stockpile of vouchers that Iāve accrued is really burning a hole in my pocketā¦even though I still havenāt nailed down any particular plans for the funds, Iām definitely getting closer to pulling the trigger and selling a few out.

I sold a good portion of my Vouchers. I hold most things Splinterlands but its getting to the point that I had the thought process of, I can't hold everything so Vouchers was the choice for selling. I only sell a non set percentage and hold the rest. Like you, I haven't got the ambition to play much Splinterlands. My collection is likely headed to the rental market in the upcoming days.
Right on man good day.
Seems you like to settle into patterns for your day like I do so you get all the little things done. Imagine how those little things now can buy us freedom later? Especially the crypto ones.
Have a great night and next day too. Hope there is some downtime in it for you.

You had some beasts in the brawl man. Sorry about the PI, I also picked up a bunch of Matic recently, at 250% gains since so far. Believe that will double over the next month. Merry Christmas my dude!
