Dec. 7, 22: Routine, DM Season 7, ZombieRun, Teaching, Quest, TV, and Games

Fell asleep around nine thirty last night. Have to say, I’m glad that I seem to be in a fairly solid pattern and not falling asleep insanely early like I used to, around ten seems to be pretty good.

I was woken up several times during the night. The first time I nudged Wenche and she rolled over and stopped snoring for a while, basically long enough for me to fall back to sleep and get woken up again. By the third time, I just got up and went out to the couch.

Got up about quarter to seven and was close enough to count it as a full eight hours…would be nice to make it all the way through in bed, though.

I have to admit I’ve gotten a little accustomed to watching the World Cup games (been nearly every day for the last couple weeks) and the absence was sorely felt today. On the other hand, I wasn’t nearly as rushed and I actually got out for a solid walk! 😮😃

Otherwise, did the usual morning routine; some curation, token shifting, getting caught up on pings and all that, but the “new” thing was the start of Wombat Dungeon Master season seven. I’m already really disappointed with it. The whales are still taking the vast majority of the daily rewards 🤬:

My one justification for the whole thing was the Cashmere Wombatium in the Well of Wealth that, if sold, would allow me to break even…this time they’ve put it so far down that I have basically zero hope of getting to it. Between having a couple accounts taking the pot and not being likely to even have the possibility of making my money back, I’m thinking this will be my last one. This is my fourth season and it only seems to have gotten worse. 😡

I felt pretty bad about it, since it had been a while since the dog had been out for a walk, but I decided to go for a five kilometer Zombierun instead of watching him sniff and pee.

I suppose “spinning round” is an appropriate title for today’s Zombierun. I didn’t exactly understand what was going on, but I think we were running simulations of attacking the Ministry headquarters. I didn’t really pay attention because I was trying to make progress thinking about Mythix, but what did I do? Spin my tires…basically just rehashed the same ideas and didn’t get any kind of inspiration; seems like my “philosophy” is putting me up against a hard place…I want players to have maximum freedom/choice and not top-down control even the rarity of cards, but that’s generally what makes them valuable besides having a use case (in game). 😡🤔 I expect that if I keep banging my head against the wall it will eventually crack…

Anyway, there were five zombies out today and they were tough! I already had gotten a twenty meter warning on the first one when I got two right on top of one another; he hadn’t said the magic phrase before the next one started! 😱 I cranked into a full sprint…fifty meter warning…was thinking I can’t keep this pace for long…twenty meter warning…everything is telling me to just give it up and as I break stride and slow down, resigned to sacrificing an item, he said it: “zombies evaded.” 😃😁😄

I mean, sure, it’s not “warm” out, but holy hell, it’s above freezing 🥶 and no snow?! I’m lovin’ it! 😁

Was a little overcast, but that helped to keep the heat in.

Only a few little bits of ice floating on the top of the pond now, otherwise it’s completely thawed out. 😯

Got home, got my usual sandwich for lunch, got a shower, and then headed in for work. I was a tad late out the door, but the drive went fine and I was there about ten minutes early. Today was a really easy day in that we were just reviewing for the chapter exam, no new material. The exam is actually quite short and easy (it’s the department exam, not mine), and we’d done at least two examples of each type of question within a half an hour or so. I opened it up for student questions, though, instead of dismissing that early and they actually asked some great questions!!! 🤓😛 Even so, we still ended after only about an hour and with staying after for a bit helping a student and a smooth drive home I had a couple hours before Wenche was due home.

Did the dishes in the sink so that I felt like I’d done something and then busted out the Quest and worked on the four hundred piece version of the Stables I started working on before. Got it about three quarters of the way done now. 👍

I quit out when Wenche got home and she made us turkey tacos for dinner (we got the old kind of turkey this time and it was much better than that other stuff we had last time) and then we watched an episode of Leverage.

I got my daily Wombat challenges done after the reset and fell asleep watching the Santa Clauses.

Ok, while it’s one thing to sort of chuckle every day about how ridiculous dShitty has become, and while it’s yet another for them to say I should be getting nearly four hundred SIM per day and then actually paying five or six because they made up a bunch of shit as excuses not to pay, it really fucking pisses me off that for the third time in a week they didn’t pay anything at all besides the dust garbage, absolute fucking bullshit! 🤬🤬

I did a lesson on Rising Star after the drunk fans expired and I’m back down to zero. 💪 Not sure if the lesson was enough to buy me at least a couple missions, but going for it for now.

Got a couple more cards from the Pizza giveaways. 😄 I think that banjo might help with the guitar 🎸 lessons, but I’m not sure what that other one is.

I got $1.5, same as yesterday, for my Splinterlands rental income, still half of where it was when I started. 😢

Did my usual daily SPS claim and paid the rental fee with it and left the rest liquid. Thinking I might move some stuff out tomorrow…I don’t have anything in particular that I’m wanting to buy, but it’s not really income sitting there in game.

Not precisely sure, but it seems like my GLX balance is going up by about a hundred a day give or take. Round about eight dollars a day, not bad for sitting on other tokens. 🤑

WOO:
My stake claim is still holding relatively well and seems to be increasing (if only slightly). I got like three hundred or so more from Pizza giveaways and three more cards staked to mine, but I’m still not holding my breath on getting any mining rewards.
