Dec. 8, 21: Routine, Teaching, Oculus, Chaos Legion Day 1, and Games
[Got early teaching today, so trying to get my post done. Got a reasonable start on most of it, but we’ll see how it goes.]
Tonight was a seriously rough one. 😭 Last night the cat got me up at three or so and I was already pretty tired and then it was between one and two today. 🤬 Lost about six hours of sleep the last two nights (having been through the exact same thing last week). I was exhausted all day and running on nothing but caffeine and nicotine.
Been a week or more really since I accomplished much of anything other than posting once a day and teaching my classes. Haven’t been able to spark any significant thought processes or summon the gumption to tackle even a small task. Even my “out” in the Oculus presents a challenge since I don’t even want to play anything that takes effort (which is basically the idea to begin with, so the options are slim).
I’m still happy to see MATIC holding relatively strong against ETH. I still have a long way to go to make back my losses, and even then there’s the lost time in between, but I’m not teetering back and forth at less than my original investment on Aave any more, got a bit of buffer room for the moment.
HIVE is still doing quite well, comparatively speaking, although there seems to be plenty of sellers. Regardless I’m now very much in the money on my HIVE investment, though, so I’m not really complaining about it regardless.
Still not quite sure whether getting involved with BeeSwap is going to pan out to be a good investment, but it does seem like it paid some other tokens besides BXT. I’m tempted to go in harder since I’m such a small fraction of the pool, but if it’s not profitable now, it’s likely not to be doubling down. I’m reserving judgment, but I do have the feeling it might be smarter just to buy BXT and collect passively…trouble is that you get diluted as more tokens are distributed.
Went in and did my teaching for the day. We reviewed integrals and the important highlights and did some examples of the types of problems on exam 3. Next week is the last week of the semester, so review for the final and then take the final is all that’s left after tomorrow’s class.
Got home and more or less hit the usual wall, but it was made of titanium this time. 😢 I played a level on Lucky’s Tale and finally got through the time trial but got frustrated with the difficulty of the last level and quit and did a little Puzzling Places instead.
I did finally lay down and put on the TV, and I did crash out, but only for about a half an hour or so. Wenche came home and I got up and had pasta with meat sauce for dinner. Felt wicked groggy and slow and I smoked so much sitting there in the dark by myself earlier in the day that I didn’t even want another cigarette.
Was up long enough to play through my Splinterlands quest and properly get ready for bed (rather than crashing and sleeping in my clothes) and I was gone about as soon as my head hit the pillow.
[Well, hooray! Looks like I actually got started in time to be able to do a fairly decent post…now if only I had something that I actually achieved that I could talk about, that would be great.]
Sixty-two minus seven is sixty-four? That’s not how dShitty math works; someone is messing with the space-shit-time continuum! 😱
As I’ve said a couple times now, really starting to get fed up with CryptoSuckmaster and this part of my post. I guess I’ve been holding out hope that they’d change their minds, but I guess enough players just bent over or there weren’t all that many to begin with (such that the loss of players wasn’t enough to cause them to reverse their paywall implementation). The fact that they view in-game assets as not belonging to the players there’s a clear and fundamental philosophical disagreement there.
Still just grinding missions on Rising Star when I remember and can be bothered to log in. Made a little progress toward the next level, but it is extremely boring now.
I guess the one bonus with being up at two in the morning was that the new Chaos Legion packs were available to open. I’m super tempted to open as many or all of them to get the monsters to useable levels (hopefully), but I’m trying to do some adulting and delay gratification…can open twenty a day for six days, something to look forward to in the morning.
The voucher drop has started up again, which is awesome, but I’m seriously disappointed that this round of packs is only available for credits…in other words, they make 4 million in dollar cash before we move on. 😡 I guess once I’ve opened my packs, my only option will be to hope for people selling on the market. I’ve put plenty of money into this game and decided a long time ago that I wouldn’t spend more.
I’ve unlocked most of the cards and got a couple golds! 👍
I really don’t understand what’s going on but I got Water splinter for my quest yet again today. I suppose strings are possible in random sequences, but the same splinter five days in a row? Was hoping to get up into Gold I today or a little closer, but I did make some progress.
Got the quest done still in Gold II. I guess potions aren’t as painful at the moment since I am actually using some (whether they’re effective really is while other story) and I did get that nice Dragon beastie:
