Dec. 9, 22: Routine, World Cup, Christmas Party, TV, and Games

[Got to bed really late last night, like nearly midnight, but the snoring doesn’t give a shit about that…woke me up three or four times starting around quarter to five and I finally just got up at five for a good three hours short on sleep…honestly, I feel like crap right now, utterly exhausted and I have my post to do and I’d like to watch the games today, so no rest for the wicked or I collapse and sleep through the game (which is likely) 😡😭]

Believe it or not I made it through the entire night in bed tonight! First time in a very long time. Did I make it through with a solid night’s sleep without being woken up by snoring? Not a chance. Got to sleep around ten and was out of bed by quarter to seven, so ended up close enough to call it a full night, though.

For two hours this morning (while the candy was active) I set an alarm for every five minutes [and I’m doing it again right now. 😡🤷] and did Dungeon Master over and over…for the rest of the day I had the alarm going every damn fifteen minutes. I had like thirty runs for the day, occupied a great deal of my time and attention and I got three cent, yup you heard me, three cents. Meanwhile the top guy by himself has taken over $1.7k of the $25k prize pool. Right…

As I’ve said a couple times the last few days, I’ve been itching to get out of Polygon but was skeptical that the Leo bridge would work since it didn’t last time. I decided to try again with another small amount to test and booya:

Did the usual morning routine: checked the crypto markets, which are still is the same spot as before, just slightly down; got caught up on Discord pings; did some curation; and shifted tokens…a little different, though, I still had an itch to get some more HIQS and INK so I actually pulled out the vouchers I’d been saving, all the liquid SPS, as well as all the DEC from rentals and swapped them all. Used the funds to get some more of both tokens, but I still feel like I might not have enough by comparison (turning becoming a card into a lottery where tokens are tickets was smart). I still have some liquid HIVE left, though, so we’ll see.

Otherwise, chatted for a bit and then got to work on my post for the day. Got it done just about on time, posted and shared, and then it was game time! ⚽️😁

Today was the first of the quarter final matches. To start it was Croatia versus Brazil. Now, strictly speaking, that should have been a gimme with Brazil being the clear and obvious favorites and nearing the end of the second half it seemed they had solidified their position one to nill. However, Croatia had other plans and tied it up to take it to extra time! Still tied at the end of overtime, it went to penalty shootout and, magically, Croatia won and Brazil is out! 😯🤯

I grabbed my usual sandwich for lunch, emptied the dishwasher, and basically killed the time until the next game. Next on deck was Netherlands versus Argentina. The first half was pretty boring with Argentina up one to zero at the half. When Messi scored a second goal in the second half, it looked like it was truly over, but with like thirteen minutes left in regulation the Netherlands scored…the momentum shifted and, boom! They tied it up in the last minutes of stoppage!!!! Once again it was a scoreless extra time and we went to penalty kicks again with Argentina coming out victorious.

When the game finally finished, I had about a half an hour or so to get ready to head out for the evening to Wenche’s work Christmas party, so got a shower and got myself dressed and headed out. The drive going in was pretty nasty, it was getting dark and by the time the Sun had properly gone down it was snowing really bad, but even going slow we made it more or less on time.

The meal was alright, but I was pretty hungry by then and I had chicken (which was way overcooked) and a slice of beef (that was undercooked). 🤣 Got two pieces of pie, though, one apple 🍎 and one cherry 🍒 and they were yummy.

After dinner was all the jibber jabber and awards. It was mind-numbingly boring, but Wenche got her five year service award and won the first ever Supervisor of the Year Award! 🤩💪

The drive home was a little nicer since it wasn’t snowing nearly as heavily and we put on a movie after we got back. It was that British dude with his dad talking about their Christmas traditions and stuff, sort of funny, but meh. I didn’t make it all the way through, but it was super late before I finally got to sleep.

So, today in dShitty we had an economic boom, a public holiday, and a revolutionary invention happen, each of which multiplied players’ income more than tenfold!!! 🤑 And then I woke up and it was a Shopping Mall robbery, exorbitant taxes, and two crises instead. That’s pretty damn shitty.

I guess, maybe, that Banjo 🪕 card is helping with my Rising Star lessons, ‘cus my Ego was still at zero! Just slogging missions now for as long as I can.

Got a bit of a bump in my Splinterlands rental income today; popped all the way up to $2.2! One step closer to that villa in the Riviera. 😛

Since I went all-out today and sold vouchers, SPS, and all the DEC I had (without too much regard for their price), I’m going back into conservative mode for the next little while to build/stake again (although my SPS balance continues to hit new highs, its value continues to hit new lows…kinda’ magical like that 🥴).

GLX:
I did pull out ten and sold them off for like eighty cents a bit ago, so I can say I’ve gotten money from it, but otherwise, just punting trying to have faith and staking up whatever comes in.

WOO:
I guess there’s a land sale coming up or something in WOO, honestly, I’m not really that into yet another card game (pretty much carded out), but they have a lot (and a lot of good things) going, so I’m glad to speculate on the token…daily rewards are still going up a tad, which is excellent, but even with three new cards from Pizza giveaways (all my cards are from that, haven’t bought any, but I did buy some tokens a while ago) I didn’t get any mining today.

INK:
Like I said before, snagged up some more tokens today to hopefully have a better chance at becoming a card…also another one where I’m getting in super early, always risky, but I’m hoping one or two of these might not end up being dogs (like the ones I complain about daily 😝).
